I wonder how the community feels about gambit.

I hate playing gambit (and being forced to complete gambit bounties for other weekly bounties. Lazy game design.) I would LOVE to have a competitive pve game mode like gambit but they rebalance all of the guns to feel like a combo of crucible and pve balance for no reason, the invader is given the positions of the entire enemy team, an over shield, and easy heavy ammo. This is not the way to do the basic game mode, it's moronic. Basic mode shouldn't have invasions, just deaths heal primeval. That way people would actually have to use pve skill to win the match, not come in with a sniper, crossmap all 4 people trying to dps the boss, shoot some again off the spawn since the invader can camp the team spawn from multiple points on the maps, and then melt their boss while we wait to respawn. Basic mode should be competitive PvE, it's really not that hard to understand. There was competitive strike scoring in D1 for christ's sake wtf happened there? Gambit Prime should be where you go for your ridiculous PvEvP stuff which would actually be amazing in D2 if it was just -blam!-ing executed properly. I imagine gambit would be hella fun if I walked in with a stomp squad and we worked together, but that's what prime should be. Basic gambit should be people doing competitive PvE -blam!-ing shit up with PvE based skill, not this crap. All I do when the invader spawns is camp until he leaves. Why the -blam!- would I engage in a pvp battle with someone who knows exactly where I am at all times, has an over shield, and definitely has guns meant to melt me. It just makes for the most boring "wait it out" gameplay all the time since I'm either waiting for them to leave, or waiting to respawn after he killed me while my teammates are off trying to play the game. If you coordinate with your team you can easily melt your invader, but only if you have a team. The way basic gambit exists now completely screws the experience for solo players, which makes for several hours of grinding with people who don't care about the game mode they're only there for bounty completion. It's just bad game design. A close but not quite.

I got burned out I did reconer and I don't even touch the gamemode anymore
-
Prime is my jam.
-
Check my stats, i very much enjoy gambit
-
I just started playing Gambit myself, solo. I can do Gambit Prime all day..it's the regular game mode I don't like
-
Guardian,Archon Of Light
Blade Of The Traveler - old
I don't Without a doubt the worst experience in Destiny 2. The invader aspect ruins it, take away invasions and it would be better -
Edited by Steamed Hams: 9/16/2019 11:47:19 PMIts really hit or miss, for instance, I played about 20 matches of Prime this weekend, and actually had a good time with it, mostly because I won more matches than I lost (solo queueing I might add) Also, Truth is a pain in the ass to play against.

Edited by Rogue_Eagle: 9/14/2019 4:44:25 PMIt's a mode of extremes. It is fun when you win. It is awful when you lose. There really is no middle ground. Rewards are still lack luster because there are no tokens like with strikes and crucible. The loot is also split between prime and regular. There are glaring flaws with it. It is developed around catch up mechanics. Heavy ammo and ammo management in general needs working. Primeval phase is still too reliant on heavy and supers to do anything, leading to frustrations with ammo management. Invading needs tweaking. There is literally no penalty to it. It has its moments, but the more you play, the more its flaws become glaringly obvious. Most players can tell how a match will end within the first 3 minutes.

Lets put it this way... I dont log on to Destiny thinking "Yeah, I really fancy playing some Gambit!" (at least not any more, there was a short honeymoon period when it was still new). But then again if I need to play it for some reason, I usually enjoy it. 🤷♂️

Love gambit. You won't hear people say that often here though. Everyone just whines about it. There are things that need to be fixed though.
-
I like gambit just wish the regular gambit weapons dropped more than the armor does all I want is a good roll hazard of the cast and a bygones with kill clip outlaw or kill clip and anything
-
Love it when it’s a fair and close game hate it when one team gets steamrolled or hive get shrekiers -blam!- them purple floating mg42s
-
I wonder how the community feels about gambit. Let’s discuss
I love gambit and play as an Invader, it's my favourite game mode in destiny 2.
-
I don't because of god Damn truth every match and the fact you don't level up at legend.
-
I do, and I play almost exlusively solo. Just haven't played since the Solstice grind.
-
I dont but im a solo player so its pretty easy to not like a team based game mode. I imagine its super fun playing in a team, i just cant be bothered finding one or making one so im completely fine disliking gambit.
-
Bit boring and no incentive to win...
-
No heavy for invaders then it might be playable
-
The only Gambit I like is the X-Men character.
-
Heavy ammo ruins it, invading needs to be less spammy, then I'll like it
-
Have just been playing it to get spare rations. Don't really like it.
-
Outside of Truth rockets and Golden Gun spam on every invasion, Gambit is pretty fun.
-
I like it but I get burnt out from it really quickly
-
Gambit can only be balanced with curated loadouts and not allowing armament mods to work in Gambit. Gambit becomes extremely unbalanced due to broken loadouts and mods that ignore heavy drop rates. Bungie can nerf weapons as much as they want, but it doesn't solve these two problems. Another problem is the RNG of heavy drop rates and how that affects the outcome of matches. I have gone some matches where heavy will not drop for whatever reason, and it is extremely difficult to deal with invaders and tanky enemies(even more so in Prime).
-
Too much cheesy invading. Not fun. I rather play crucible for pvp. Cut invasions at least by half.

There should be a "meh" option
