Is this really the society we live in now?

•Where having a brain, facts/evidence/common sense, and logic will get you punished, while being a self-entitled, pretentious idiot gets you fame and popularity? •Where misleading, clickbait videos gets you lots of subscribers, while youtubers with original content get thrown to the side? Actually when YouTube wasn't this big battle royale over who can get the most subs. What happened to YouTube 10 years ago? •Where music about drugs, b1tches, etc. with partial nudity becomes hits, and songs about your goals, life problems, just actual messages are ignored? I mean, we all love technology, but at least we didn't become mindless zombies off of it. (Using phones at all time in public, y'know, instead of actually socializing. Well I'm introverted, so it's already hard for me to socialize) EDIT: I'll rephrase myself on the 3rd one. Yes, catchy songs with no messages are ok, but if majority of the lyrics are about drugs, b1tches, all the typical stuff, then I stay away from listening to it. Mumble rappers fit in this topic. • Which is funny, for I just read; https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/tucker-carlson-san-francisco-bans-words-crime-democrats It more or less exemplifies the problem.
Going forward, ex-cons are to be called, "justice-involved individuals." Well, as it happens, the people they committed crimes against are also "justice-involved individuals." So, in other words, victim and criminal are now morally indistinguishable. That's on purpose. This is woke equality. ... Meanwhile, back in the city of San Francisco, there are no longer any "juvenile delinquents." The whole category has disappeared. Criminals under 18 are now referred to as "young people impacted by the juvenile justice system" -- as if the system, and not the kid, committed the crime, which is what the left in fact believes. It's your fault, not theirs. Check your privilege, Middle America. ... Drug addicts, meanwhile, in San Francisco are now called "people with the history of substance use." "Use," not "abuse." Get it? Heroin addicts are now the same as insulin-dependent diabetics; both use "substances." You can't call one better than the other. They're both exactly the same.
And also; https://babylonbee.com/news/progressive-church-allows-anyone-interrupt-sermon-with-their-point-of-personal-privilege?fbclid=IwAR0lIXPHSHRhWJfOzbPCJLijGaY0rx88MX4xMV27kmVUg7xBqZ2JLP9flVs #satire, but it basically nails the San Francisco nonsense. • Where illegal immigrants can actually get welfare. I mean, think about the inherent insanity in paying people to commit a crime. It's like giving a car thief a free slim jim, or offering a Chevron gas card to a professional arsonist. I could go on, but do I really have to after that lunacy?

      • That and how divisive everyone is. Just look down below and you see people trying to pin it all on their politcal rivals. As if their side is completely innocent of any wrong doing. -blam!-ing disgusting.

        • For the first one, yes. From what I've seen in the part of society I live in (the US), logic and objectivity very often takes a back seat to those who very heavily demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect. For the second one, this isn't new. Youtube has been like that since its inception. It all depends on who you look for. For me, I've seen very popular Youtuber channels such as HTME, who mixes entertainment with logic and information. Another Youtuber I follow is Steve1989MREInfo, who also does the same thing, and neither of them are really clickbaity. Both are original creators with ideas that are original. Logic made a song that was literally named after the Suicide Hotline number and that exploded on to the scene. Childish Gambino made a song that discussed what you were talking about, except he was much more critical about American culture. It was mostly well-received, but in this area of the US, it was seen as extremely negative due to a lot of people in this area seeing it as anti-conservative. Joyner Lucas also made an extremely critical song pertaining to political identity, partisanship, and how people outside of America view our current political climate. It's an explicit song that uses a lot of swear words and makes use of the N-word with the hard r. These are the three songs I can think of that are popular right off the bat, but also have a pretty deep message in them. Again, this all depends on the kind of music you are around and the music you are actively looking for. If I can recommend one that is an older song but addresses issues that we still see today in the US, here is a song by Fort Minor: Kenji. Personally for me, I'm also very introverted, and while I check my phone a lot, I also socialize quite a bit. I'm definitely not the one who initiates conversation, but I can now easily carry a conversation without forcing myself to do so.

            • •Everyone thinks they have common sense, logic, facts, whatever. Everyone thinks they are right and that they have a brain. I don't think I know anyone that got famous from being a self entitled pretentious idiot. •Clickbait videos were obviously expected. It's usually pretty easy to tell what's garbage and what's not anyway. •People like music for its sound, not for its messages. It's like criticizing Debussy for not being party music. "Party music" goes all the way back to The Beatles and earlier. "Rock and roll music" is a good example. Messages are typically not for music. Go into poetry or essays if you're into messages. Partying, spending money and beautiful women all add to the fun. I'm guessing this is one of those "let me vent about everything that pisses me off posts"

              • This^ Yes I agree totally. It is PC to have people's feelings and opinions over facts. That's my take on your first point.

                • Yeah. It’s a product of the Disney era. Everyone is and individual and their dreams and goals are the highest concern and chasing them will bring you satisfaction. So people chase the lowest and easiest means of satisfaction—instant gratification. So people chase emotion over reason, number out partying over meaningful engagements, likes over relationships, because, if chasing your dreams will Bri g you happiness, then why set hard dreams to chase?

Ignorant masses have always condemned the truth. There has always been "dumb" entertainment, & entertainers have always competed to be the most popular. Sex has always & will always sell, & people will always enjoy drugs. The world & people in it haven't changed; you're just starting to realize how we actually are.

As for the music part. Lyrics have never been all nice and deep and meaningful. [i]Book II: XXI KISSES you give to some ; to others you give, Postumus, your hand.
