And after 5 years of dealing with these beasts I want to make one thing clear to Bungie. If you want to make Endgame PvE harder by adjusting a variety of factors then let me say this, after the absolute shitshow that was my road to One Thousand Voices. If the next raid exotic is a RNG drop and not a quest exotic tied to the raid then you seriously need to make sure you get your drop rates right. 96 runs of Riven was only bearable because of how quick and easy the boss was to cheese once we began maximising and refining our damage strategies. I had this same problem with Crux. Ran hard mode Crota three times a week trying to get the thing, only got it last attempt on the last week before The Taken King. Basically, if raiding is going to become more like the days of old the loot drop rate needs to be properly adjusted to compensate. That is all.
RAID. WEAPON. QUESTS. We need raid weapon quests. Not RNG. A quest. I want to complete my run, pickup my quest, go do some other stupid shit, and get my gun. I do not want to wait for the RNG elf to spin his magic wheel and decide if I get to be a part of the 1%. I don’t want to see any more people on the forums saying they’re X runs deep into Y raid and asking “is this gun worth the loss of my sanity?”, We want the gun. Give a catalyst behind RNG or a flawless clear, but not the gun itself. If it needs to be made hard to compensate for the increased amount of people who will get it, make it hard. Pull an Outbreak Prime, idgaf just give me a goddamn quest. I don’t think I can stress enough that people want something to chase, not to rummage around in the dark hoping they stumble across what they’re looking for. The quest provides an endpoint, you don’t get that with the current raid weapons besides Acrius. Raid. Weapon. Quests.
Raid weapon quests.
