Bungo please fix?
An absurd amount of players use macros to AFK farm gambit and gambit prime rounds whether for quests, bounties, triumphs, etc. One solution i can think of would be to make it so players dont auto queue into the next gambit match. This problem has probably added about 5 years to my 21% delirium quest given only wins count to infamy once you've reached legend
You get one AFK on your team and as long as the other team is somewhat competent you can almost guarantee a loss. Two and you might as well just start dancing in the spawn. I report these players constantly and Bungie might as well make a change to avoid it altogether given how often it does happen (seems like every other game to me)

Afk farming is a reflection of a game that has gone too much to the Grind Club. If it was actually enjoyable people would be playing. The problem is people want the little icon on their screen but they don't want to do boring activities over and over. The problem isn't the AFK player it's the game designer

Just disable auto que matching and afk will stop
-
Big difference between AFK farming Gambit, and intentionally lowering your level to AFK farm forges. If you lower your level, you'll match into the forge with people who are also AFK farming. So if you want to AFK farm forges, that's fine. Just lower your level to at least 450 before you do.

Any weapon quest should only be achieved by performing well in the activity just not showing up.

If Bungie would fix how abysmal it is to farm gambit prime weapons, then you would likely see the number of AFK people in gambit prime drop. But I’ve killed oryx in reckoning 700 times this week and still haven’t gotten the spare rations I want. If I can afk gambit prime for 8 hours while I sleep and get 1-2 more spare rations that might be decent, why not? You have to look at the root cause. And if the loot system for gambit prime wasn’t so bad...you’d see a lot less of it, but currently, afk farming gambit prime is the most efficient way to farm spare rations. If they had vendors weapons and rotating rolls each week, another feature in D1 that we no longer have, it would also help alleviate the problem. There are many solutions to the problem, but when your developers are so stingy with some of the best loot in the game, and you can get it easiest from AFK farm, people are gonna do that.

Just curious, but what do you gain by not winning in Gambit? The forges is for materials, but I did not know this was happening to be honest?

Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 7/22/2019 12:11:32 AMHopefully they get banned from reports.

Same in crucible, SoaR members are the worst, almost every single one of them does it - all the time - at least the ones I play do. The only one that doesn't is Cerridius and they're (the offenders) never on the other team either. I have a clip where all five of my teammates (randoms) are AFK, supering themselves, PC is gross overall.

AFK farming is the big thing now in Destiny. From gambit to forges AFK farming is being hyped up all over the place. They should ban them all.

Edited by michael: 7/21/2019 1:38:18 AMAfking gambit stems from the issue that some of the best guns in the game are locked behind the mode. If bungie stops requiring it to be played (not requiring, but the other option is reckoning so it may as well be) for top tier gear then people will stop afking. Before rose, spare rations was the only kinetic 150 hc that could hit 60 range and beyond. It was the legendary HC to have for crucible, nothing compared. How do you get it? Go through the total cancer that is farming tier 2 reckoning for hours upon hours on end, or play gambit prime. Except the drop rate in gambit prime is awful, so If only you could still keep the chance of it dropping without actually playing... Last man standing is one of two shotguns in the game that can roll one two punch, the other being emperor’s courtesy. One two punch is an incredible perk for both pve and pvp: In pve you can use it with liar’s handshake and combination blow to create a build that can kill strike bosses, blind well bosses, forge bosses, public event bosses, and shattered throne bosses in less than 4 or 5 punches. In pvp it is one of the few consistent counters to roaming supers which plague the crucible right now; if you get close enough to a roaming super you can punish bad awareness with a shotgun melee and kill them. Im not saying afking gambit is right. I did it every night for about a week or two (in a 4 stack so that solo players wouldnt be punished) and it felt scummy, I was always worried I would get banned. But bungie needs to stop locking top tier weapons behind gamemodes that a vast majority of the community does not enjoy.

What i saw In crucible, there was one guy jumping off the edge all the time, whole match killing himself. Lmao.

Participation bounties and quest steps should go away. Permanently. They promote AFKiers. Because it is simply "play # match". Yes, I know, winning bounties isn't that much of a better. Stay long enough and matchmaking will find you a competent team that will win it.

I think Bungie should just shut down Gambit. These issues (and quite a few others of a design nature) have been around for quite a few months now pretty much unaddressed. So if they can't fix this on the fly because of manpower issues or other priorities, get rid of Gambit until they can. It has tremendous potential but really is a failure overall. I'm amazed the management at this company is letting this go on so long. Also whoever on their team keeps coming up with these kinds of content ideas needs to take some time for introspection because I see a lot of purposeful mean spiritedness (masquerading as challenge) in Gambit and other areas of this game.

cause gambit sucks. Miserable shit.
-
Why go for the 21% when you could get a hammer head? Gambit is such a cancerous game mode in itself, I’m dreading the grind to mythic for the triumph
-
Or make activities more interesting and worthwhile?
-
This game breeds this kind of toxicity with it’s asinine dictation of how and what we use in what activities. It’s a looter shooter that tells you what loot to use like half the time. Makes no sense.

Edited by Maxx Powers 1: 7/22/2019 2:53:31 AMHow? It'll kick you to orbit after a couple minutes. You can't AFK farm anything in Gambit or Crucicle. Edit: nevernind didn't see the "macros" part.

LFG a team

Akihiko You make some valid points and i agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

Telling teacher? Lmao

Edited by Unlucky Pants: 7/21/2019 1:28:10 AMHey beginner programmer here, just as a lesson what are macros? As an idea of how far along I am, I am still figuring out how to use AHK scripts

Bungie does -blam!- all with the report function. Those -blam!- have put it in there for lip service. -blam!- bungie and their support of afk -blam!-s and lagging mother -blam!-ers.
-
I have seen this on xbox too.. its going on in forges as well. People just rubber band there controller so they just stand there spinning around so they dont get booted..
-
This is the biggest thing that's keeping me from wanting to make the jump to PC when Shadowkeep arrives...

You can pick up the non-gambit bounties from drifter that give you 200 infamy per toon per day
