Why rewards for heroic public events should be better
Because bungie sets quests that include doing a certain number of heroic events and i have just had 5 cryo pod events screwed up on the tangled shore by people killing the boss early. I need 2 .. so far i dont have any.
This is entirely bungies fault. If you gave a half decent reward maybe people would complete the heroic. If you cant do that.... dont make it a quest step!
Seriously guys ... 2 tokens and an effing blue teach you nothing?
Give a glimmer stash or something ... any kind of incentive to not screw people who hang around a map for hours to get a quest step done.
Even an emote for evryone that says I NEED HEROIC ! .... well?

I think the reason why people kill the boss early is because of the large AoE that pod does. I’d rather kill the shit before the shit kills me.

I remember a time when you used to be able to get exotics from doing heroics.. Honestly, if the rewards were better for doing a heroic event, then likely people would do them more often. But the rewards as of right now, do not make doing heroic events worth the time. Bungie seriously has an issue with how to reward their players.

You know, I'm more than willing to help make an event heroic... but sometimes, I don't wanna put up with it. Specially if people are just standing around waiting for one person to make it Heroic so they can reap the rewards of 2 tokens and a blue. GASP! The issue is, there's... what, only one bounty that requires you to do 'Heroic' public events... meanwhile all the others just say complete Public Events. Be it heroic or not... and it's easier to just burn the boss down, move on to the next one... Heck it's fun to see just how fast you CAN burn it down. People are making builds of "Highest DPS!" like Cammy, with One-Two Punch on a shotgun, Combination Blow x3 and Liars Handshake... killing a boss in two punches to it's kneecap before anyone else can touch it. To some people, that's fun. Ctrl+Alt+Del a big chunky enemy is hilarious... And some might argue "You're ruining the game by doing this! I- ... I mean, others need Heroic events!" True... but they spawn in often enough, what, you wait 10 minutes for the next one?

6 RepliesThe problem is that bounty to complete 2 public events without dying. Why would someone increase their risk of dying to turn the event heroic when they can blitz the boss before the heroic enemy waves arrive?

1 ReplyThe majority of the people (including me) that just go for a quick boss kill on cryo pod PE know how to make in heroic, but we purposely don't because the heroic version takes so darn long and the only reason to do it is for ghost fragments and it's more efficient to do it quickly then do more patrols. Bungie should adjust the time on that heroic PE.

Well after doing nearly 4000 heroic pub events I can say that 50% of the time no one other than me is working to make anything heroic. part of the issue is that it is not clearly indicated what to do. You should be rewarded for damage on the thresher, Shooting 4 or more ether,large Blight glob damage, Vent damage, smaller Servitors Kills, 2 arc charges to open cannons, open 1 vent on the pod.

A special armor set for doing certain PEs heroic would be cool, per planet as well. Maybe make them like the solstice armor with masterwork goals

They should reward the slim chance for armour mods. And lost sectors slim chance for weapon mods.

A good chance for an enhancement core to drop would be a nice incentive.

Same with me. I doubt I will ever pick up that Drifter bounty again (two heroic public events.) The reward just isn’t worth it.

Whilst I get the frustration, there are 2 quests that need a heroic event on the tangled shore. So the amount of people wanting it done quick, far outnumber those who want it done heroic. It's poor design on Bungies part really so I just don't see this as players fault, unless they're doing it purposefully to mess with someone. Just add it to the list of bounties/quests that put you in competition with the people you're supposed to be co-operation with.

I'll always see what other players are looking to do. If I see sustained fire at the cryo pod, sure, I'll go the heroic route.. But, to your point. Yes. More stuff 👍

Difference is that if another player is there I will try to make it Heroic, and leave it to them to help or not. Normally players just burn through the event and move on. I'll do the same thing for bounty bosses that roam the open world. Nothing is more annoying than to wait 5-10 minutes for one to appear and in your search to find him a player closer melts him in about a minute. I'll work them down to about half health and then stop and wait to see if anyone else need to get hits in on him. Again normally 1 player just runs up and melts him. I try.

Honestly if it gave us 2 or even 1 enhancement core for doing it Heroic, I'd grind the hell out of Public events all day and farm them

I ended up going to Titan for the heroics for the gambit bounty. I tried 3 times on Tangled Shore, but they just melted him.

1 ReplyEdited by ryebar: 7/14/2019 10:20:56 PMWhen farming for materials a random chest drops 2 planetary materials and usually a blue item. The same when doing a heroic. Heroic events should definitely provide improved loot and materials when compared to random planetary chests.

Honestly check what the public event bounties is for the day for the tribute hall, and which ever planet it is for, stay away from if you want heroic public events. People are trying to do 80 of these stupid bounties, they aren't about to waste their time with a heroic version, especially when they can't die for it to count.
