Calus has no body?
So between the lore with Calus and Driter having a "talk" and the lore behind Robes of Sekris I think Calus no longer has a form or "real body" and he uses the robots as suits. What do you guys think? This sentence has me sold "His skill in designing and modifying mechanized life-forms was unparralleled and he made it clear he knew I was not what I appeared to be". Key word in that is MECHANIZED LIFE-FORMS.

Edited by NYC_InfamousNick: 6/23/2019 11:20:35 PMAt first people (myself included) theorized that the weird head in the Leviathan raid was some sort of psionic projection made in Calus’s image by the Councilors you see around the room, claiming that Calus has no power to call his own. Now I’m fairly certain that the giant head [b]IS[/b] Calus, or what’s left of him. The way “Chronicon” introduces the topic of his true form is kind of vague, as in one lore tab they detail how he returns to the Leviathan (his gel pressure suit was punctured in space and his expression was manic) after he communes with “the absence of absence” and the very next entry starts talking about how he greenlit the production of the Calus-androids in his image and how everyone is uncomfortable about this idea, but accepts it. There’s no filler that explains what happened in between, or how he became this way, but even Match the Shadow Councilor from “Confessions” theorized that he might be a ‘giant mouth, eating what he pleases and laughing endlessly’ or something like that.

4 RepliesCould he be like Crota and Oryx? He has physical bodies, like his robots, and he is just a soul in his throne world. In the final encounter of Leviathan, we went into another dimension where we saw big boy Callus. Perhaps that was his throne world.

1 ReplyWhat I want to know is how if he was trapped in the Menagerie, then how on Leviathan did he manage to transverse the hallways as a 30ft tall alien? The corridors and doorways are not big enough to fit someone Calus or Ghaul sized, as a matter of fact, why the hell is their such a massive height difference between foot soldiers and important leaders in the Cabal and other races???

1 ReplyI always figured that Calus was more of a Wizard of Oz type situation. One day, we'd finally make it to the highest, farthest room despite his efforts, and we find that he is merely a 2 foot tall puppet master. Then he throws a fit and spills his wine.

I like the theory that he’s sort of uploaded his consciousness into an A.I. If he’s really done half the things he claims he would have to be centuries upon centuries old, what’s the average Cabal lifespan? Wait Nevermind I looked it up they live for a VERY long time. Still what is unclear is why he wouldn’t show himself. He wants us to trust him he screams it at us in the menagerie. So why would he think we would trust him, a cabal leader, without even seeing him. He’s definitely smarter than that.

It's not like the Leviathan has unlimited resources and even so how long do cabal even live? And what about all the soldiers that are on the Leviathan? I wonder if they're just cloned?

4 RepliesI believe the purple spirit thing you see in the calus encounter during leviathan is the real calus. His soul is tied to leviathan and to me it makes sense because we can hear calus everywhere during the leviathan without any speakers anywhere🤣

Yeah, it appears he’s become a powerful psionic entity, which I guess is his way of making it difficult to kill him outright. I’m curious however the role his Councilors play, as although it would seem they are unnecessary given he doesn’t need them to be the last in existence, four councilors are (presumably) needed to transport us into the Shadow/Nightmare realm, and his Councilors are the ones who restrain Ghalran when the Crown is place on his head, not Calus.

1 ReplyIt says he has a body in the lore tho. When the Levi is dying and everyone starts dying calus goes into the void and ends up kinda saving everyone and seeing “the end”. They even say he’s in a space suit for air. They also have him lay down just in case he was just having hallucinations. And he also says the guardian of the red war and him will be standing side by side when “the end” comes.

Wasn't there speculation that he's actually a powerful psion using the robotic Calus bodies so he appears to be this big powerful guy
