Idk how anyone could call themselves a solo player, when this games core content focuses around teamwork. This may be unfair to say. But...get a clan. It's not hard. Not everyone can solo raids, or nightfalls, hell even shattered throne can be a task if you don't have the right loadouts. The bottom line is, it's hard to get ahead in Destiny if you don't have some form of backup.

Kinda irrelevant given this game is based of group play. I imagine lower tier stuff will still be soloable.

Edited by Dream: 6/19/2019 9:54:36 AMThe main story missions and a good portion of the exotic quests? No. The endgame? Probably. Nothing LFG can't solve.

I think it will be similar to how It is now. The PvE game is pretty balanced, and it works for solo players with the amount of matchmaking.
-
I really hope it’s match made that’s what won me over so fast with this new activity I’m so tired of activity’s requiring a team
-
I hope not.

As this game digs further and further into MMO, it’ll probably get worse. You have until people start complaining that patrols/matchmaking activities are too easy
-
It’s possible. But Destiny was never meant to be a solo player game. I mean, it’s an mmo. But I do think there should be more content that makes it easier on solo players. Menagerie is the best example I can think of. I would also like to see endgame content that utilizes mechanics that you can only play solo. Like a one man Raid. I know that the Last Word had a step where you had to solo a tough mission. Didn’t have any real mechanics from what I remember, but is an interesting concept I hope to see expanded on. Something that’s halfway between that and Shattered Throne that you have to solo. Kinda like how Shattered Throne is half way between a Strike and a Raid.

One thing is clear. There will be more grind. If D2 is heading towards a more MMORPG style more grind has to come with it. I think its time for a trading market 😁
-
No. Sure there will be the quests like Thorne and truth that are next to impossible solo. But other than that, nope.
-
Edited by SaroN: 6/18/2019 7:32:04 AMdepends on what you mean by playing solo. many on this forum don’t actually know what playing solo means. they think if they join random players they play solo.

Destiny base game (aka the campaign) ain't hard, even some team activities could be done solo, but the f*I&&g game doesn't even let you enter, as for raiding I totally quited that part of the game since the first game as it was a complete waste of time, because I could grind hours to get good loot that will be rendered totally useless as soon new content drops, or the nerf hammer attacks but it still consume inventory space or have insignificant light level compared to the cap and lacking perks or ways to achieve the cap (infusion / reforge), not to mention how hard is to get a good team, so right now I'll focus in complete as many triumps as I can tough I know there are lots I won't get (raids / crucible / gambit) and then hope for something more "friendly" like Cyberpunk 2077 or Outer worlds
Topic title
It might not be more difficult. But it will likely be more pointless.
-
I hope so. I have to play pvp for a real challenge.
-
No. I imagine it will be fairly similar to now. Of course, you do mean playing solo, but utilizing in game matchmaking, right? Because there are very few totally solo activities in D2, currently.
-
not really, as a solo player the only time being solo hurts is playing comp or trying to raid... nothing will change... i hope they add custom shaders soon, were we can make custom shaders from parts of the shaders we have unlocked.
-
i doubt it
