Bungie, Nerfing Luna/NF Is A Breach of Player Trust, and Is NOT The Same As Nerfing Items from The General Loot Pool

I'm a shit tier pvp player, but I grinded my ass off to finally get a hold of Luna this season. Until finding out about the nerf, I even had aspirations to try for not forgotten. This is an insult to every person, high skill and low, who worked their hearts out for a weapon that could command the field. This is a breach of trust for each person that invested hours of game play to obtain something that was promised to be good. We worked for a thing as advertised, and now you are changing it into something that might not even be something we would have bothered to get in the first place. Is the gun OP and causing some imbalances on pvp? Yes. Is nerfing the only solution? Maybe, if you want the easy way out. But the easy way comes at a price. By altering a thing we have invested in, you are compromising player trust. Luna's and NF were not weapons that could be easily obtained from the general loot pool nor other easy and grindy pve triumphs. They were long quests, obsessively long, and required commitment and team cooperation unrivaled in other areas of the game. Just the sheer number of hours involved far exceeded any other pursuit. A reward that demands that kind of effort should be sacred, not subject to the whims of community discontent. I know there are some who obtained these guns easily, as well as a larger minority who paid 3rd party services who might not care about these nerfs. Then there are the wise players that didn't bother to get them at all. But for those of us that did, we earned these weapons. We are the inglorious fools that put in our blood sweat and tears to get something we thought would count. And now Bungie, in your arbitrary wisdom you see fit to simply strip them of their power. What you promised us, the informal contract we as players assumed you would honor, is being torn to shreds. And this is all because you made the weapons as promised, you made them formidable. You created an imbalance and now you are taking the easy way out to fix it. You have proven to us that we as players should not invest our time in high tier rewards. We know now that you will not honor them. Rather than choosing to nerf, you could have buffed other weapons and armor. You might have invested your energy in making other weapons more varied and dynamic, rather than maiming the few weapons you got right. I'm very upset. I'm sorry that something I put a tone of effort into and just obtained, is now going to be sub par. I won't say I'm going to quit Destiny, like some disgruntled player, and then come crawling back. I still enjoy certain aspects of the game. But I learned my lesson Bungie, I know now never to invest myself in any top tier endgame rewards that you advertise as worthwhile. I no longer trust that you will invest your creations with the promise of permanence that is equal to my investment of time.
