Bungie does not restore lost or deleted items. Would you happen to have a video of you receiving these drops but not having them in your inventory?

I don’t have a video of this. I’ve never recorded myself playing and didn’t check my inventory until about 10 minutes after I “recieved” the second helmet. I remember each helmet drop because the collector helmet should have completed my illicit collector set and the reaper helmet was during my second consecutive round of using weak reaper motes. If it were just one item, I might have thought I was mistaken, but after two helmets being taken away, I know the problem was not on my end. I really wish Bungie could give me something other than “sucks to be you.”

Yeah, unfortunately it's just part of their policy. If this happens a third time, try to record it and post the clip here. At least that way, Bungie has something to go off of for an investigation of a possible bug.

I’d like to think that I wouldn’t need video evidence to retain my (not even that powerful) gear, but this is Bungie we’re dealing with here. Also, it’s not a “possible bug,” it’s just a bug. It happened, so it’s a bug. Plus, is a report of this bug not enough? How would a video of this change anything?

I'm not calling you a liar, but there's always the possibility that a person who's reporting something is lying or just mistaken. This happens a lot with the Mars memory fragments: someone is adament that one is missing or otherwise bugged, but when they post a video or screenshot of them looking for it, we can definitively point out that they're looking in the wrong spot and direct them. In your situation, a video of this happening could potentially show us something that you may have missed. And I say "potential" bug because I haven't seen anyone else make this claim. It could have been an isolated glitch, but if we could provide the exact details to Bungie via a clip, they could investigate it further and possibly find an actual underlying bug that could affect others.

I can definitively tell you that I am not looking in the wrong place. I know where my inventory and postmaster are. There’s not anything else that I could have missed. Those are the places that my items would be if they hadn’t been glitched out of existence. Plus, I never claimed you thought I was lying. And if I was lying, I would probably try to get something a little more valuable than illicit armor.

I'm just giving examples of how a video could help, since you asked why you would need video evidence. You could try clearing your console's cache and see if that magically makes them appear, but unfortunately with Bungie's policy there's just no way of assisting you further with this issue.

I guess Bungie once again doesn’t care about the quality of gameplay, as reflected in their policies that offer zero help. Apparently, it just sucks to be me.
