Combat Bows: Looking Forward

This topic also entitled "thoughts about combat bows by a guy who knows too much about bows". So yeah, I'm a former competitive archer, still a hobbyist one, and now an amateur bowyer. Obviously I spend a lot of time thinking about bows. I'd like to see the combat bow continue to be a part of the game, not just a more-or-less Forsaken one-off, so here's one idea I had. You can keep the weapon type as "combat bow". In fact, I like that, because a lot of bows mix features of a composite and compound bow. However, I think a way forward would be to split it into two subsets. Think of it kind of like firearm "frames". Compound Bow & Longbow. For those not familiar with what a compound bow is vs. any other kind of bow, here's a basic description.
The power of a shot of a traditional bow all depends on just how far back you pull the shot. The problem is, at full draw, you can have a tremendous amount of force fighting you while you aim which can make aiming hard. Thus the compound bow uses clever systems of pulleys and whatnots to make it so that it only has two modes: all or nothing. In your initial draw you exert more energy than drawing a traditional bow to full draw, but then it kind of "locks" in place and becomes quite easy to hold at full draw while you take aim.
Basically the main differences are, unlike now, any compound bow type combat bow would have to be drawn to full draw before being released. Just like how you can't fire off a fusion rifle early. However, you'd have a good amount of time before your accuracy even began to drop and you could hold it perhaps indefinitely. The longbow type, however, would work more or less how combat bows work now. You can barely tap it and, well, the arrow will land at your feet, but sometimes that's all you need. The major downside would be even ADSing would soon start to shake around and you'd only be able to hold it for a very limited time. Just my two cents. And some additional imaginative thinking in case anyone's interested.
So now that the combat bow tech is out of the Vestian bag, probably everyone is going to want in on that action. Here's how I see combat bows fitting into pre-existing enemy arsenals (from which you'd acquire them). Fallen - Really wonky looking cobbled together compound bows. (All sorts of strange attachments for who knows what.) Cabal - Chunky powerful compound bows. (Maybe an Exotic crossbow) Vex - Elegant and minimalist longbows (Vex arms don't get tired, you know) Hive - The usual horror-driven style longbows. (They're fond of swords and shields, of course they'd go for a traditional bow.)
