Steady FPS drop/stuttering

So I'm not exactly sure when the issue started, but it was some time after forsaken came out, before I was running the game at a steady 70-80 FPS and it would *never* stutter, now I get on average about 50fps with regular drops to low 20s. Running on GTX 1060 and i7-6820HK @ 3.7ghz. I've run the scan/repair on BNet and it doesn't find anything wrong, I've tried running game all the way down at lowest settings and it changes nothing, game ran at 70-80fps on high settings. I just uninstalled the game and reinstalled last night hoping it would fix, but its still running choppy as ever. Any clue if there is a fix for this, or if its even a known issue? Cant seem to find anything on it whenever I look, most frustrating thing ever, laptop runs every other game I play just fine, and then I get on Destiny and its like I'm playing on an iPhone 4. I currently spend more time playing at 20fps than 60fps and just want to enjoy the game again. Aorus x3 v6 plus laptop if that helps at all, all of these issues are after making 0 changes to game or laptop, drivers are up to date

  • That is unfortunate, it really is. All laptops and PC's will slow down over time, but there are a couple ways to bypass this. First off, capping your fps is a smart decision as most monitors can really only show off 60FPS. Don't run apps in the background when playing either as some can slow down your laptop, like discord. I'm not an expert when it comes to this, but I have boosted my fps from 40-50 to 100-120 easily back when I used to play fortnite. I would advise cleaning up your laptop, this is a great time to do so as you can get rid of excess files and help provide yourself smoother gameplay. Killing two birds with one stone :). A key feature to getting rid of stutters is to lower your resolution. Now lowering your resolution comes at a price, obviously you lose crispy graphics in a lovely game, but if we are focusing on a competitive aspect then lowering your resolution is the way to go. I really hope this helped, I see a lot of people having this problem and I might find a couple videos for you that could help you boost your fps if more guidance is needed. :u
