As much as I am open to more options, this one in particular leaves me on the fence.
Having no helmet on during combat breaks the immersion, but I also imagine that the devs would probably have to compensate for it by adding facial expressions for being hurt/damaged.
That is unless, of course, if folks are content with their character having a perpetually static facial expression 24/7.
I’m not against having the option open either, but I personally would never use it.

You wouldn't even see your face to notice any expressions. The only way you could see the front of your face is if you did a quick emote and spun the camera, which would break whatever expression you had (or make your emote look really weird).

You can always still have your helmet on during combat if you want but for the players who dont want it on they don't have to have it on
-
i don't see how it can breaks your immersion since every major character in cut-scene is helmet-less, plus its an option, you have the choice to not use it. as for character animations; there are already lots of facial expressions implanted in the game because of the emotes so i don't think it would be complicated.

Our character’s faces still remain static for emotes, I thought?

yea, you are right. but still im ok with that even in action.
