Who and what is the Final Boss in Forsaken?
Major spoilers ahead.
I've seen a few people confused on who exactly Riven is. I've specifically seen her confused to be a techeun, so I made this post to hopefully clear up some confusion.
Riven is an Ahamkara, and the last of her species. She was an ally to Mara Sov and her awoken, but was corrupted by Oryx when he invaded Mara's throne world, The Dreaming City. It was not Savathun who corrupted her, but it may be Savathun who controls her now.
The space meatball at the end of the campaign was most likely a form of Riven and not just a corrupted servitor. As shown in many of the dreaming city lore tabs, Ahamkara have the ability to shape shift. With Riven's boss name confirmed in the triumphs page to be "Riven of a Thousand Voices" and the final boss of the campaign being called "Voice of Riven," I believe "Voice" is synonymous with "form" in this case.

See when you first start fighting the voice of riven, the objective says defeat the chimera. This leads me to believe two things 1)The chimera was a servant of riven that was a fusion between light and dark (uldren gave it the dark stuff from his eyes and the light from the shard). 2) it wasn’t a from of riven. The hive have similar names. Like how Omnigul was the “will of crota”. The chimera was the “voice of riven”. It’s what spoke to uldren. This is backed up by the fact the the wish dragons and work gods are connected in some way, like the way they both say “o (insert noun) mine”.
