I don’t even watch either of these guys, but they bring up an interesting discussion.

Now, I’m not boasting saying BTDobbins is trash, but rather I like to bring up an interesting discussion. We as gamers seem to have become overly negative, both in games and outside of games. Some people come to games as an escape from real life, and with all this negativity lately, it just doesn’t provide an escape. I feel like this video also proves this point, where we need to let go of some of our elitist ways, and just try to have fun. Thoughts?

  • Right now Bddobins is a hypocrite and just a negative nancy. Watch a video of him laughing at Destiny 2's boss AI saying it was the "hardest content in the game". 1) He was playing normal strikes 2) He doesn't understand the term "Aggro" because the boss was ignoring him cause he was doing no damage to it while his other 2 teammates were. He is a moron. He talks smart but he has 0 experience with RPGs, MMOs, or how AIs work only on standard FPS's.

    • It's not 100% about the players. It's the games that have taken a dive as well. There was once a time where developers made games because it was their passion. Because they wanted to craft fun, memorable experiences that resonate well with players. Now a lot of new major titles are more about trying to squeeze money out of people with microtransactions or trying to grab a slice of the competitive PvP/Battle Royale/eSports pie. Makes it tricky to have fun with a lot of games these days.

    • I feel like this is more a problem for the type of gamer who has any of these as their top played game: Fortnite PUBG CoD CSGO LoL Halo Those of us to play primarily SP games have always been pretty friendly...well except the Soulsborne crowd, but they die every few seconds so I'll give them a pass.

      • I dislike Dobbins because he complained about a lot of problems and gave small solutions ,if any solution at all ,because that would be a positive thing However Darkside Royalty Lore (or Joker) explains the same problems to us and almost spends most of the video giving evidence and solving the problems I feel like Joker doesn't get enough praise these days

        • This couldnt be further from the truth. Gamers in general are really not all that negative. It is the most popular posts on the internet are mostly the negative people. Most people dont remember the posts saying a game was decent or good, at the same time most people dont make such posts because they are typically busy doing things like playing the game. The majority of the time you will see such comments is as replies, not posts of their own, unfortunately this is less obvious and less memorable. Also just because a group is loud does not mean they are big. You could see tons of posts and videos complaining about a game, but then it sells millions and has tons of constant players. A bunch of negative posts means very little in comparison to the number of people actually playing a game. You want happy people? Go play the game with people, they are typically the much happier ones, those on the forums are not so happy much of the time. The vast majority of gamers are very happy with games, so happy in fact that they are typically playing them rather than complaining about them online.

        • I prefer Yong and Pretty Good Gaming for news and such. Long can be negative, but it's never unwarranted. He also has really cool news and such for Death Stranding. I can't wait fo the analysis on the E3 trailer.

        • I strongly dislike both of these guys, but it's still kinda funny to see them go at it.

          • Yea, Dobbins, the guy who makes sure to open his thesaurus before writing any long (and boy do I mean long) rant about something he's upset with. You know they taught us in Grammar that the purpose of learning the "big words" was to be able to shorten your sentences and people could understand what you are saying. But NOT Dobbins, he likes to extend those sentences with his buddy Thesauro to make the obvious point take at least 10 words more. People like Dobbins like to act smart while people like Driftor are actually intelligent.
