Character Appearance Editing

Is there a reason other than "choose wisely when creating your Guardian" that we can't edit our Guardians' appearance, even if it's something that doesn't affect the race or is generally inconsequential (like hairstyle, hair colour, or exo faceplate colour & markings)? Is there any possibility for that functionality being added in the future? Maybe Eva Levante had enough of shaders and emblems and now she's back as the resident hairstylist (I don't know, I'm just tossing stuff out there), or it's an option on the Character Selection screen? Truthfully, I'm just regretting my choice to give my Awoken Guardian that mohawk, and now I keep her helmet on at all times because it's a bit obnoxious for me. I just wish I could change it.

I'm very much in favor of an edit-option. Even if it's a one time only deal. My exo Titan had this cool looking bronze/copper skin in D1. But in D2 he turned into an orange. I'd like to fix his looks.

    • Just the way the game is, most RPGs use that mechanic. "Choose wisely" pretty much covers it. Don't know if this would appeal to you, but I actually had the same problem (regretted a character choice), and the solution is to wipe the character and start over. Stick all your good gear in the Vault (equip a bunch of random Blue/Rare gear) first, then replay the campaign and level everything up again. The advantages are: A) You get a better-looking character. :) B) You get to play the campaign again, in order, which has always been difficult to do otherwise (even in D1). C) You have a reason to "level up," which pretty much goes away once you hit the cap. D) You get to do all the Exotic Quests again. If you wait until you hit Level 25 and put your old gear back on, they'll drop at a higher level, and can be kept or used for Infusion. E) If you like the RPG elements of the game, it lets you redo all the Lost Sectors, Adventures, Region Chests, and clear them all off the map again. F) Free Milestone loot for all the first-time stuff! I actually re-roll characters fairly regularly, both to mix up activities and to get the free high-level Infusion gear, especially when new DLC drops and "the grind" for Light Levels picks up - plus, they often add new dialogue and little "easter eggs" and changes to the Campaign over time, and most players never even notice or know about it. I currently have 3 Exos based on Vex, painted Vex gold with red eyes, which worked out well with the new Eververse armor and the Forge weapons - fits the theme of this DLC quite nicely.
