A lot of the items on your list are opinion based and can't be backed up by fact.
But that doesn't really matter since the mechanics of D2 regressing fits perfectly with the story of the Red War. Of course we lost a ton of technology, the Cabal nearly wiped us out. It just fits.

So, it's my "opinion" that there are/aren't ammo synths, and subclass diversity? Come on guy. Make some sense.
-
Edited by gizzamaluke: 1/16/2018 6:44:23 PMI said "a lot" not "all"... you don't get to pick and chose from your list in order to prove your point. Lack of ammo synths might be a fact but subclass diversity is an opinion: just because you don't think it's diverse enough doesn't mean the entire community agrees with you. True, there are plenty of facts on your list, but there are also a lot of opinions.
-
Point out the "opinions" specifically.
-
I can't even believe I'm taking the time to do this, but you have four (25% of your list) blatant opinions: Envying Exotics, Subclass Diversification, Relying Heavily on Team Shots in Crucible and Cohesive Storyline with New Additions and Character Growth. None of those can be backed up by fact. They are opinion based entirely off of your perspective.

1. EVERYONE is aware (even Bungie,) that the exotic items in Destiny 2 aren't "special" and don't exactly feel exotic. Nobody cares if you have something they don't. Nobody is pressing to get what you've got. You can't sit there and tell me that ANY of the exotics in D2 come CLOSE to rivaling the Vex Mythoclast or Gjallarhorn. 2. Show me you can pair Deadfall Shadowshot with Heat of the Pack as a Nightstalker. Or Transcendence with Arc Soul as a Stormcaller. Or even Explosive Pyre with Sun Warrior as a Sunbreaker. Oh that's right... You can't. 3. Team shooting definitely wasn't a thing in D1. 4. By the time we reached Age of Triumph in D1 we had new enemies, events, and upward additions to the game. What was given to players by Year 3 Destiny, was taken away at Destiny 2's launch. None of the items on the list are opinion based. They are all fact. If I notice something is available in one game, but not available in another, it isn't my opinion that the content is gone. It's literally gone!

Edited by gizzamaluke: 1/16/2018 7:48:41 PMI disagree. 1. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Prometheus Lens, so you're wrong about "EVERYONE" 2. The fact may be that these combinations no longer exist, but it's your opinion that this is a detriment to the game. 3. Another opinion that can't be backed up by any fact... pretty sure I always performed better with a fireteam in any version of D1 or D2 4. They changed the mechanics for a lot of the enemies, thus refreshing them. Making this another opinion.
-
Mmmmm, no. Everything you listed is YOUR opinion. YOU couldn't wait to get your hands on a certain exotic. YOU perform better. However, you still cannot tell me that the Prometheus Lens is far more sought after than the Gjallarhorn or Vex Mythoclast. Everything listed on that sheet doesn't state opinion. It states what was available/possible in Destiny 1, and unavailable/not possible in Destiny 2. That's it. You cannot willfully switch up your subclass skills in Destiny 2. And you cannot replay any mission of your choosing in Destiny 2. The sheet compares what was possible to what isn't possible. There's no "opinion" about it. It's black and white. A and B. Period.

Edited by gizzamaluke: 1/17/2018 6:14:11 PMYou just proved my point... you said EVERYONE, in your earlier comment. I'm apart of EVERYONE, when it comes to this community. So, you are incorrect. EVERYONE does not feel the same way that you feel about the various aspects on your list.

Oh my god dude... I don’t feel any way about anything. Let me break it down for you since you’re not grasping the concept of the sheet. It’s not philosophy. It’s elementary. Everything is yes or no. Destiny 1 (AoT) has various weapon/armor stats. Does Destiny 2 have various weapon/armor stats? No it does not. Destiny 1 (AoT) has Ammo Synths. Does Destiny 2 have ammo synths? No it does not. Destiny 1 (AoT) has free reusable shaders. Destiny 2 does not. Destiny 2 has gear mods. Destiny 1 (AoT) does not. Destiny 1 (AoT) gives players the ability to rearrange anything in their subclass. Destiny 2 does not. Did Destiny 1 (AoT) lean heavily on team shooting in the crucible? No it didn’t. Does Destiny 2 lean heavily on team shooting in the crucible? Yes it does. Can you choose any mission to replay in Destiny 2? No you cannot. Can you choose any mission to replay in Destiny 1 (AoT)? Yes you can. Did Destiny 1 (AoT) introduce new enemy factions? Yes it did. Did Destiny 2 introduce new enemy factions? No it did not. If Bungie themselves release a statement saying “Exotic weapons and armor are receiving a... design pass to ensure they stand out from the rest of the gear and offer new, exciting, powerful ways to play.”... guess what that means? It’s a FACT that they aren’t special and don’t stand out! So, once again. These aren’t opinions. These are cut dry facts.

Edited by gizzamaluke: 1/17/2018 8:15:52 PMJust to use one of your examples (I would go into the rest, but this is starting to bore me) your list states that the exotics aren't "envying". Alright, maybe you believe this, and I'm sure others agree with you. However, there is no way to prove, without a doubt, that 100% of the community also agrees with you. Even if you posted a poll, so people could efficiently share their view of this particular item on your list, you probably wouldn't touch 100% of the community, therefore this is not a fact. By definition, the feeling of envy is not something that can be physically proven or shown to be a fact. So, yes, this is your feeling. Or, in other words: your opinion :) AFTER THOUGHT: one player's fix is often another player's disaster. There are people out there who appreciate a simpler game setup and so a lot of the items you've listed might actually appeal to some players... that's really all I'm trying to argue, here: just because you do or don't like a particular element of the game doesn't mean everyone else agrees with you. I see a lot of facts being used to back up your opinion, and I appreciate you doing that as it creates a constructive argument, but the truth remains that you are using these facts to backup opinions.
