Amidst all of these "Remove Eververse" posts, has everyone forgotten the old ways?

I agree, we should get what we pay for with real money, with more opportunities to earn free cosmetics as well

I disagree, I am unwilling to pay for cosmetic content whether my purchase is direct or not

I think there should be a different system altogether (comment your solution below)

So I jumped on the forums today to see what people have been doing, what Xur brought, and to see if anything interesting happened during the last couple days. I guess you could say something interesting is indeed happening. So basically every forum post right now is calling for the removal of eververse, but I'd just like to propose an alternate, possibly easier solution: Just let us buy what we want, for a set amount of silver (just like in Destiny 1), and add cosmetics, along with silver dust, to the loot pool as rare additional drops from endgame activities and milestones (just like in Destiny 1). We all know Tess Everis isn't just going to disappear, and neither are the microtransactions, but giving players a chance to earn cosmetic items without having to spend money, and eliminating the RNG for direct purchases would more than likely be a fair enough trade. I'm not sure how many of you guys play Rainbow Six: Siege, but the system in that game is probably one of the most ideal systems that Bungie could go with going forwards. Yes, you can still spend actual money for things, but basically every item (aside from pre-order bonuses) can be purchased in-game using in-game currency. Cosmetics are also rewarded randomly via RNG rolls at the end of every successful match, and those RNG rolls can not be bought with real money, but additional rolls can be acquired using the free in-game currency. Anyways, I'm probably going to catch a load of flack for this, but with all the unyielding opinions on the forums I wondered if perhaps a middle ground could be reached. Leave a vote and comment below why you support/oppose this option, or if you have a different suggestion, let me know so I can read it. Thanks for reading guardians, and happy holidays to you an yours! :)

  • Where is the option to leave it as it is and stop whining like spoilt little bitches?

  • That is how the eververse works currently. Everything is purchasable directly with bright dust which is earned through playing the game and not paying any money. The issue is the dawning armor is pretty cool and everyone wants it but it’s almost impossible to grind bright dust in the time frame the armor is available so people are bitching. Personally I think eververse is fairly well done up until this event where they just make it impossible to get what you want by playing alone

    • They should shrink the eververse down to destiny 1 size with the amount of stuff in there. Remove ships, sparrows, and ghosts from the shop, and enable a crafting system for gear. You have materials, use them to create items, and make mods actual mods that add interesting perks. Gather materials, add your mods, create your own unique weapons and armor.

      • lol .. it's honestly ridiculous. people are just upset about the way it operates. You get 9 bright engrams a week at an accelerated rate (about 1500 silver if you want to put it that way). Oh, and the 15 engrams you got from going 20 to 25. [ if you play 3 characters.] That's over 40 engrams since the DLC dropped, until now. For $0. People [id like to guess the millennials] are impatient to wait for Tess' cycle to sell what they want, so are insisting the engrams not be "random" . They want ghosts, sparrows, and ships to be obtainable in gameplay; which is a reasonable request, as they used to be available that way. **[which iron banner, the factions, and future raid will include, according to a tweet by CB]** They are upset that a new "cool" set of armor is available that they can't "grind" for. When in reality they can, just not in the way they want. As everything will be sold for dust at one point, which can be acquired by dismantling other Tess items that aren't of interest. People want EVERYTHING handed to them on a "silver" platter. When instead, they should just get a job instead of relying on mommy's credit card. [if there is really something you can't live without...in a virtual world...lol]

        • I think your proposal is what most are looking for, with one caveat. They seem to be focusing a ton of their effort on eververse, they need to spend time fixing core systems and bugs and adding more to do as well and less on cosmetics.

              • Items in Eververse should cost a specific amount of silver so that people could buy silver in order to buy what they want.
