Why the Hive looks different from Destiny 1? This one could be the answer

So, I'm sure that many of you have noticed that the Hive looks pretty different from Destiny 1. You can clearly see this from the design of the Knights and Accolities. When I saw them the first time, I've simply thought that Bungie re-skinned them just, you know, to give them "a NeW aNd FrEsH lOoK", but actually there could be a reason -a LORE reason- why these bad guys look so different. On Titan -precisely, into the Festering Halls- you can find a Scannable that says:
"These Hive spawn pods are different from the ones we saw before. Maybe a different brood. Or a different generation. Gross and confusing."
Now, in Destiny 1 we fought the Hive that was the progeny, the blood, of Oryx. In Destiny 2, we know that the new Hive-Boss will probably be Savathun, Oryx's sister. There is a Scannable on IO, a Taken Plague, that points directly to her:
"This is sending out some kind of resonant signal. The same syllables, over and over: Sa... Va... Thun..."
(IO, Terrabase Charron) So, maybe these guys are different 'cos they do not dscend directly from Oryx, but from Savathun, they are the Oryx-Hive-Cousins.... something like that. Also, there is another little thing: if you see, actually the Taken have the same design of Destiny 1. As we know, the Taken, after the fall of Oryx, have been scattered, confused, disorganized. Now it seems that they've found a new "Boss" with Savathun (still, we don't know this for sure)... but, why the Taken have the same shape of the D1 Taken? I think that this is maybe because actually Savathun took the control (or is trying to do so) of the Taken, but she can't create them 'cos this power has been gifted by the Darkness only to Oryx and she can't do this. Maybe she doesn't control the Taken as Oryx, maybe they just decided to follow her, they "ellected her" as a new Guide, as a new Queen. Who knows? What you think about?

The Hive are having a meeting after their utter failure during the Dark Below and Taken King sagas. Savathun pipes up: Alright guys, you've failed twice now. It's time we work out what you're doing wrong. *Silence* C'mon, one of you must have an idea. How do we fix this? *Silence* C'mon! There are no bad suggestions here. Just tell me, why do you keep failing? What do the guardians have that you don't? *A Knight gingerly raises his hand and with a trembling voice utters a single word* "..Capes?".

    • Yeah... we kinda figured it was Savathun within 2 days of the game coming out.

      • I thought this was obvious, if not heavily implied.

      • Ha! Somebody beat me to it. I was on my way here to see if anyone else had caught on that Savathûn was Oryx' (Aurash's) sister, and how that name is appended to many enemies' names (much like the servants of Crota and Oryx in D1) on Titan and Io - glad I'm not the only one who remembers the Books of Sorrow. I noticed the difference in the Hive (both creature models and weapons), as well as the Taken (many Majors now have beasty-looking horns), just assumed it was "new game flash" but if Savathûn is controlling two armies that would explain the difference. Also interesting that the Hive and Taken occupy different planets, with no overlap (so far), and the Hive and Vex (the two "supernatural" enemies) have never clashed. It's worth noting that Io is the also the first time we've seen Taken that aren't "sourced" from native enemies - there are no Hive on Io, but there are tons of Hive Taken. As of D2, we've had every other combination of conflicts: Fallen-Hive: Earth (D1), Moon (D1), Titan (D2) Fallen-Vex: Venus (D1), Nessus (D2) Fallen-Cabal: Mars (D1/HoW), Earth (D2) [Both appear on Nessus in D2, but not in direct conflict] Hive-Fallen: Earth (D1), Moon (D1), Titan (D2) Hive-Vex: {none} Hive-Cabal: Dreadnaught (D1) Vex-Fallen: Venus (D1), Nessus (D2) Vex-Hive: {none} Vex-Cabal: Mars (D1), Nessus (D2), Io (D2) Cabal-Fallen: Mars (D1/HoW), Earth (D2) [Both appear on Nessus in D2, but not in direct conflict] Cabal-Hive: Dreadnaught (D1) Cabal-Vex: Mars (D1), Nessus (D2), Io (D2) Destiny 3 - Wrath of Xivu Arath confirmed.

        • It seems that oryx's hive were more rugged where savathun's hive are more elegant and curly. Makes me wonder what Xivu Arath's hive look like

          • There is an adventure that shows the Taken making more Taken from the Vex. So they apparently don't need Oryx to "take" other races.

Oryx and his sisters did kinda grow to resent one another, so it's likely they have their own Kingdoms and Broods Now to the more serious question
Why don't the Fallen wear clothes anymore?
• Already confirmed that the Hive in D2 are Savathûn’s brood and that’s why they look different from the Oryx spawn of D1 There are many Taken named as Quria’s commanders in D2. It’s likely that Savathûn is using her leverage on the Taken Quria to manipulate the Taken to some extent (their appearance didn’t change because they are still Taken; changing what breed of Hive or House of Fallen it is doesn’t effect appearance), but this obviously means she doesn’t have full control. We can only hope she doesn’t figure how to Take on her own and gain full control
