As many of you have already seen from many many posts on the forums, a major bug is going around that is stripping Founders of their Founder Title and giving that title to random people.
Myself included, many of us followed the instructions exactly as placed.
Step 1 : Choose to continue your clan, or not.
Step 2 : If your clan continues, choose who will be the Founder of your OLD GROUP.
Step 3 : Choose the Founder of your NEW DESTINY 2 CLAN.
End of instructions. The bug is that AFTER STEP 3; as of today, whoever you picked in Step 3 is NOT THE FOUNDER. Literally thousands upon thousands of people on BungieNet/Reddit have been reporting this, and not a single peep from any official sources.
Spread the word. I hope this gets fixed.

Bungie is currently investigating this issue affecting a small amount of users. You can find more information below. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/230237915/0/0 For now, to change the founder, have the current founder head to the clan roster. There they can select Promote next to a members name and select Set as Founder.

Bump, what's happening with this? The clan founder that bungie decided to promote is inactive so unless there's some fix I'm screwed ?
-
we got 2 weeks left, hopefully there is a fix
-
A founder is a founder beleive it or not. not someone random who bungie deem fit, this bug is unexceptable. I founded my clan pre destiny launch July 2014. Now some inactive member who is uncontactable and inactive has been promoted to the founder like WTF. They better fix this.
-
I'm still at my status as founder, I just had to re promote my admins.
-
I followed the instructions and lost my foundership, it's been transferred to someone who doesn't even play anymore.
-
i noticed this when it first came out to enable clans. made the founder to someone else so i changed it back to myself. just had to pay attention.
-
I scewed it up myself, deleted myself as founder. I just joined another clan.
-
What's a clan? We Indians now?
-
How the hell do you continue your clan? Nobody shall take my useless clan from me!

Edited by JaS: 8/25/2017 12:02:53 PMNever had any step 2, or 3. I just logged in and they already had set as clan enabled for me.checked it today and my founder status is still intact and my clan is alive and well Why would you need to set a new founder of the destiny two clan if you were keeping your original clan? Something doesn't sound right, hope they get it sorted for you gl

Mine tried to separate my psn and xbox and ser my psn as founder. Super easy to simply set my xbox tag as founder.
-
Had no issues, mine synced and worked as intended.
-
Looks like my clan got wiped out entirely, the founder took the right steps and selected a new founder but now we can't find it. We'll just make another, 5 mins of inconvenience. Did you really expect it to work?
-
where did you read about step 2? I was under the impression that if you upgraded to a clan, the associated group was deleted
-
I had my foundership transferred to another good friend of mine so either way it’s good. :) wondering if there will be admin privileges
-
Mine worked as intended, still founder
