Donald Trump is in the process of destroying America

Donald Trump has made quite the splash in the political community these last couple of days. He's made some smart moves, however, it's hard to ignore the signs of both environmental destruction and economic turmoil. Let's start with the economic portion. Donald Trump wanting to build a wall at the US/Mexican border has been well known for quite a while. He wants one that rivals the Great Wall of China. His initial plan during his campaign is that Mexico would pay for this wall; mind you, estimated costs range from 15-20 billion dollars. It has been decided that the US taxpayers will foot the bill for this wall. This goes against his promise to make Mexico pay for the wall AND his promise to lower taxes for all. On top of this, the Mexican president is has publicly stated that Mexico will not pay for this wall that they don't even want. BUT DON'T FRET. Donald Trump, in a recent interview with ABC, said that Mr. Pena (Mexican president) has to say that and assures us that Mexico will still pay for the wall in some kind of transaction, however, he was extremely vague about it. What happens when they don't pay for the wall? Will Mr. Trump threaten them with War? Does he believe that Mexico is indebted to the US? Environmentally: Another major point of Trumps campaign was to bring production based jobs back home. 2 initiatives to do this is 1. To lower corporate taxes assuming that the extra money will be redirected towards the American job market and 2. Reduce environmental regulations because they are "out of control." and yes, he did say they are out of control in his meeting with the major car manufacturers. This may actually bring production jobs back homw, however, there are major environmental consequences of bringing factories here. There are major air pollutants as well as possible toxic waste generated as a by product of factories, especially without environmental regulations in place to prevent it. As an added bonus, Trump froze the EPA, whom mainly conduct environmental research which would most likely fight the disregard of environmental regulations with scientific proof. And if that's not bad enough, the poor air quality will like to more illness. These employees, most likely working minimum wage, will not have any affordable health care in place to make up for the rise in health risks. TL;DR: Mexico wont pay for the wall, the taxpayers will, and there will be minimal environmental regulations on the stateside factories which will lead to environmental and health harm with now affordable health care system in place. These 2 things will destroy America, and those who voted for him should be ashamed by this display of idiocy and dishonesty.

  • Trumpology is primatology. Primatologist Jane Goodall defines Trump very clearly: “In many ways the performances of Donald Trump remind me of male chimpanzees and their dominance rituals. In order to impress rivals, males seeking to rise in the dominance hierarchy perform spectacular displays: stamping, slapping the ground, dragging branches, throwing rocks. The more vigorous and imaginative the display, the faster the individual is likely to rise in the hierarchy, and the longer he is likely to maintain that position.” Bullying is a highly successful evolutionary strategy. Like yawning or syphilis, Trump’s self-dramatisation is catching. Do not be demoralized, stupidity brings out the good from the other intelligent proportion. :)

  • So, each american would only be paying around $60, on average, for a large piece of infrastructure whose benefits could be tested in more ways than just immigration.

        • He won't destroy America. But, he will destroy the last remaining shreds of civility and mutual respect for one another in American politics. We're locked into a very dangerous cycle. It reminds me of pre-civil war divisions and rhetoric. The abolitionists claimed slavery wasn't a "necessary evil" as the South had argued. They weren't the victims of history and British slave imports. Their dependence on slave labor wasn't justifiable. That alone was a lot for Southerners to swallow. Then abolitionists went further and said that slavery is not only very evil but slave owners themselves are incredibly evil. Most people know that story. What most people don't know is that from the founding until a few decades before the Civil War, Southerners DID regard slavery as morally wrong but an inescapable evil because their entire economies relied upon it. It was only in reaction to being labeled morally inferior and evil that they invented the argument of racial superiority for slavery. My point is that as one side radicalizes it's rhetoric, the other side radicalizes theirs in defense. Polarization grows and grows until something bad happens.

        • Environmental regulations are way out of control. The wall is cheap compared to all the green energy scamming we've been doing. And keeping out illegals is extremely important. Any corporation will spend money 1000 times more effectively than the government. Its common sense to keep as much money away from government as possible.

                • The wall is no different from Obama. It will provide jobs and will cost less than the trillions that Obama threw at the economy. Now, the environmental regulations are out of control. Obviously he's not going to let them dump waste where it shouldn't be, but there are a few over the top regulations.

                • Mexico WILL "pay" for the wall. If you ever looked anything up you would know that the planned method for funding to for the US to reduce federal funding TO Mexico by a set amount so that the wall will be paid for. America is basically taking money that they would have just given to Mexico and are spending it on a wall to separate Mexico.

You said... "Does he believe that Mexico is indebted to the US?" YES. Let me throw some numbers at you... 2014 Mexico export value - 400 billion dollars. 2014 Mexico export value to the US - 291 billion dollars. 2014 Mexico export next highest value is Canada - 24.5 billion dollars. 72% of Mexico exports come to the US. The US had a 50 billion dollar trade deficit with Mexico in 2014. Trump has a pretty big stick to swing around. They need access to our markets far more than we need access to theirs.
