Help: The Collection Upgrade: DIRECT ALL GRIEVANCES/HELP HERE

I linked the official Bungie response above. While this information is useful, the definitive answer is there. [b]I understand that this issue is frustrating, but with everyone popping up on the forums asking the same questions will not get us a uniform answer on the issue. The best way to do this is to organize and direct our grievances though the proper channels. This post will have to do for now. I will also be constantly updating this post as I gather more information. [/b] [b]To begin[/b], I want to provide all of you with my findings on Bungie's site itself since the @BungieHelp twitter has yet to weigh in on the issue formally. - [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=44808]Legacy Consoles General[/url] - [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=44810]Legacy Console Upgrades General[/url] - [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=44803]Legacy Console Upgrade Options[/url] - [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12122]Destiny Collection Upgrade Information and FAQ[/url] After reading all of this, I will try to immediately eliminate a minor group of those of you who report having issues with this: [spoiler][b]1.[/b] If you did not purchase the Taken King on your Microsoft account itself (I mean entering in the code for the Taken King and the other dlc's in your Redeem Codes tab) and you are in fact sharing the dlc with another person, you are not eligible for the download. This is only for people whose accounts have proof of purchase and no others. Just because you have played the Taken King on your console does not mean that you yourself own it.[/spoiler] [spoiler][b]2.[/b] If you are trying to go cross-platform with your upgrade, sorry to tell you that is not possible nor will it be. [/spoiler] [spoiler][b]3.[/b] You must already have the next generation console before you can purchase the upgrade for it since it also requires that you import your profile from your 360 to your XBO. [/spoiler] Now, onto what we as a community can work on together: [b]Theories[/b] I do have a few theories as to why the Upgrade is having so many hiccups with Microsoft users but most of them are pretty simple. The first of which is that, since the bundle contains content that is yet to be released, the product is not yet available and therefore unable to be discounted. Most US systems are designed to prevent a product from being discounted until it can be officially sold (my experience at Gamestop is the only thing driving this part of my theory) so you will be unable to get your discount until Rise of Iron is released which also coincides with what I have seen others on this site have discovered through Microsoft's Help. Another potential theory is that there is a technical communication error between Bungie's servers and the Microsoft store. For those of you who didn't take a computer science course in college or just don't really know much about them, this basically means that the code that tells Microsoft about your Destiny account is being sent either to the wrong place or is not being sent in a way that Microsoft's computers can accept. From what I understand the most basic form of scripting to be, the code would go something like this: - display product - confirm customer input - process sale - check for other commands - command found: "Discount" - checking for requirements of "Discount" - checking customer account - (Error would happen here) customer account does not meet parameters - closing command: "Discount" - process sale - confirm sale This is the simplest way I can explain what is causing the issue, but as I said it is just a theory. If you guys have any thoughts or want to simply vent your frustration or voice your concerns, I implore you to do so in this thread to keep the clutter on the main page down and to increase the likelihood of having your concerns answered by a Mentor, Moderator, or BungieHelp account. The more people that show interest in a single post the more likely they are to respond. Otherwise, stay tuned. I will update this thread daily.
