I'm not going to slam you with hate speech. I always encourage guardians to dig into the lore. However, it is established canon that Eris meets with Mara Sov in the reef. Moreover, Mara Sov can remember being born and is likely the first awoken. Eris was a young and inexperienced guardian when she went into the pits in the moon in her failed Crota raid. The reason Eris looks the way she does is because she did a little self surgery with some acolyte eyes in order to survive in the dark.

  • Let me try this again. First of all, thank you for not slamming me with hate speech. I can't believe how worked up some people want to get about someone's headcanon. Lol it's not that serious. But anyways, what I see is essentially a chain of actions and reactions: - At some point in time, Oryx had a fight against the Awoken, which he won. He took a dead or dying body of mara sov (which is why no one could find her) and turned her into something else. He used his knowledge and army of time traveling Vex to send her back in time, and this being was the young Eris Morn. Mara Sov's memory of birth would not disprove this headcanon since Mara Sov was turned into Eris in my headcanon, not the other way around. And then some time passed in the past and then Mara Sov met Eris Morn, unaware of their "connection" or the future events that would play out. As for Eris doing a little self-surgery, well....whatever happened down there, no one is left to tell the tale of it, except Eris, and the only proof to go by is her word alone. If my headcanon is what we go by though, then she could just as easily lie about what happened, and there'd be no choice but to believe her because there aren't any testimonials to the contrary. Also, while we're on the topic, isn't it strange that they would send a "young and inexperienced" guardian to the depths of the dark below for their direct assault? What's fascinating to me about my headcanon is not how likely it is. What's fascinating to me about my headcanon is that it can't be disproven. Also, headcanon aside, I'm pretty sure Mara Sov isn't the first Awoken. Somebody else mentioned this too, but hers is the sixth reign, and since she goes by the title of queen, I'm guessing there's a monarchy at play, meaning there were at least 5 generations of Awoken before her in her lineage.

  • "They" didn't send Eris anywhere. Eriana -3 assembled an un-sanctioned raid team that included Toland the shattered, Eris Morn, Vell Tarlowe and a few others. This was after the defeat at Mare Imbrium and the vanguard's retreat from and interdiction of the moon. I get that you like your head canon, however it is irrefutably disproven when you look at the existing lore

  • They're a prime example of why fireteams required 32 w/ Gally. Remember the last time we made an exception on the forums and spent the next few years stuck under the moon because Eris got our ghosts killed and we couldn't wipe. I can run sword bearer my backside! Should have checked her grimoire!

  • Mara Sov is the Sixth Queen to rule the Reef, so she wasn't the First Awoken to be born

  • There's a Hunter Cloak you could have gotten when Petra visited the Tower called the Cloak of the Sixth Reign with the Queen's emblem on the back of it and the flavor text "One throne beneath the howling dark."

  • Interesting. Still not a complete confirmation. A reign "Could" just be a period of time. I know Mara Sov can remember her own birth and has powers that were borderline if not paracausal. I won't go into the Mara Sov = Savathun theory because I think that is a red herring but she is definitely more than just an awoken
