As some of you may know, Microsoft has changed their terms of service. Most of these changes aren't very big, as usual, but there's one that caught my eye.
"Notice that Xbox now requires that you sign in at least every 5 years to keep your gamertag active"
Every 5 years is long enough to not affect the average user. In fact, the gamertag you want may become available one day soon.
I personally have never dealt with the loss of a friend that plays Xbox, but what about those that have? Sure, it's sort of petty to worry about a deceased person's gamertag, but it's a worry that I have seen people ask about. So, does this worry any of you?

I wonder if this applies to accounts that have been permanently banned from Xbox Live? -
It's been at least 1 day, apparently, and I have not experienced this.

Oh well it's just a video game

Doesn't seem like a big deal, but I do know someone who all of a sudden stopped playing back in the Halo 3 days. For that reason I understand, but if someone changes their gamertag I think all should be fair at that point to take it.

Thanks for the awareness. I'll probably need to log into my alternate account very soon.

I haven't known anyone that's died that was on my friends list. However, like 3/4 of my friends list on Xbox live no longer plays...
