  • Make sure to take as much advantage as possible of being able to attack in the middle of movement and then continue and finish your movement. In 3.5 you used to have to take an entire line of 3 feats to do that, but now it's in the vanilla rules for everyone. Also, stay away from 2 weapon fighting if you are either proficient with shields or martial weapons because sadly, 2 weapon fighting is worthless now. It's meh-okay up until level 5 or 6 when a martial class would get Extra Attack. Also, try out being a fighter. They're absolutely amazing now. If you want to be cheesy-ish, play a Bard and enter the College of Valor. You'll get a class feature later on that lets you cast a spell and then make a single attack with a weapon as a bonus action. With that you could use the cantrip True Strike and then gain its benefits on the same turn (advantage on an attack roll) or Blade Ward which gives resistance to non-magical weapon damage for 1 round so you can tank and still stab someone.
