IB Rift - How about some bounties that encourages team play

So we have a team-objective oriented game mode, and we have randoms playing together. How do we get them to unite and play as a unit? Duh, bounties. Give players an incentive to [i]not [/i]just run around looking for kills, and instead reward them for taking actions that a team would do - like defend your rift, kill the guy with the spark, etc. With Control, there is enough freedom in the game mode that allows for players to wander and do their own thing (except grabbing heavy with no one around and teammates are 2 seconds away.) I think some of the bounties right now encourage this same mentality - get kills, someone else will get the spark and dunk it. Bounties could be along these lines * Kill the Runner 10 times * Aid your Runner - be within a certain radius of the spark entering enemy rift 5 times * Kill enemies within the Spark Zone - keep them from getting it. These are just some ideas to get the ball rolling and obviously would need some tweaking, but you get the idea. Give incentives for being a team player in a team-centric game mode. What other bounties could we have that encourage team play? Post below.

  • Rewards for teamwork? That's something I expect from a fellow Gear, but the fact that you guardians would like incentives to work together kind of drives home my point of you never sharing in our kind of bond. We are brothers to the end, but guardians seem to care more about that singular noun in "become legend."

    • My favorite is the achieve the highest score weekly bounty. It forced me to play like a dick. Two of us were close in points towards the end of the game and he got the ball. My fireteam and I just backed up and let him die. Then I got the next ball and won the game. Rift bounties, teamwork sold separately.

      • The only bounty I have an issue with is coming first in the game. You can only do this by hogging the spark. This results in players almost fighting for the spark and probably getting picked off by enemies in the process. I think this should be replaced by x number of kills when your team has the spark or win x games without your own rift being ignited I play in a fireteam so I do not have that problem we just take it in turns to be spark runner

        • Agreed, played a bit if IB last night and was quite surprised to find I'm actually enjoying rift. Some more rift orientated bounties would make it better though. Wouldn't even need to be all risk based but throwing in a few "ignite rift x number of times" or "defend runner" etc would be fun.

        • I actually like the idea, these bounties seem more geared to clash where kills are king...but some can be tougher to get, or take a bit longer. Like your bounty ideas because they wouldn't force someone into a fireteam, but would encourage them to play goals more.
