So I've been in some heated discussion lately because in my opinion it's a cheap way of trying to get some views on your channel by giving away trips to the lighthouse.
Mostly people in those threads defend the streamer, but let's just take this to a little poll.
And please if you have anything to say leave a comment.
Nino.
- So seemingly it's okey in this community, we'll okey I'm surprised
- I will not bother those threads anymore then.

Shit i aint asking for a caryy but i do need a good team, who wants to help with my challenge... going flawless with no mic i can hear perfectly and kill great just my mic shorted out anyone up for it msg me here
-
I mean, if they're not carrying them, that's cool, but it kinda sucks that it's usually a "Sub for carry" kinda deal. I like when streamers give viewers a shot at playing Trials with them competitively.
-
If your good enough to carry. You deserve it. I'm pretty decent at trials (I think) and when I find a team of these guys it's a challenge haha
-
1 ReplyIt's fine. At least they're kind enough to do it I guess. If I had the time/patience I would probably watch a twitch streamer for a chance at the lighthouse. I've never even done trails so getting anybody else to help me seems unlikely.
-
I see nothing wrong with it. At the end of the day they are helping people get to the lighthouse. Now using it to get views is fine. Now claiming that they will do it than backing out once they got their views would be a problem but as long as they keep true to their word i see nothing but good
-
I'm my opinion I feel it's ok ppl get carried into lighthouse everybody deserves to experience it at lease once. I happen to make it the lighthouse last weekend holding my own weight and man let me tell how more glorifying that was instead of begging for carries on streams or lfg.

1 ReplyLighthouse and/or raid Sherpas and carries = Cool, +1 to them for helping people out (realkraftyy carried a 7 year old to the lighthouse who's dad watches the stream. His dad said that his son who went flawless with Krafty was bragging how Kraftyy got carried, that's just amazing) Carries for money? Fûck you. I think that's ridiculous. If you're doing it for money, do it like Kraftyy with a day dedicated to only subs, 2 days dedicated to anyone, and a day dedicated to lighthouse virgins.
-
If he's carrying someone to the lighthouse and wants money for it then whatever I don't really care. Let the man live his life

1 ReplyEdited by Zeph: 1/13/2016 8:45:18 PMI'm indifferent on the notion of 'Lighthouse for Views' but I don't begrudge people who resort to it. I have a popular thread here in #Destiny that is all about more experienced Trials players helping out newcomers to the gamemode be it through offering solid advice in thread or assisting them in-game absent the want of subs, views, cash monies, etc. No ulterior motive what-so-ever just a bunch of guys for whom the reward of helping others is enough.

Offering a service to people to try to get your stream more popular? People have a problem with this?
-
Thats just advertising and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
-
Well I'd do anything for a trip
-
Some of them make a living doing it. I don't understand people giving them money but hey, whatever floats the personal boat. It's a great way to get new viewers and since they are trying to make a living at it I see it as great way too put themselves out there and find more people.
-
I think it needs dedicated servers
-
5 RepliesI think the streamers are fine doing what they do, play a game for a fanbase. If they play with their fanbase it's even cooler. Now, asking for donations or allowing skips for donation etc...I think is lame. The person paying is cheating themselves out of working to get better. The person carrying is running a fine line between ethical behavior, but I get it when there's a market for it. Ultimately there's nothing I think should be done about it. Idiots will pay for it so let them. Streamers are earning cash doing what they enjoy, kudos to them.
-
I dont mind if they do it for views, but streamers who do it for the money to charge carries to the Lighthouse is kinda where I have a problem with.
-
1 ReplyHow is it a cheap way to get views? They are giving back to the people who support them.
-
How would you like they get viewers? Cracking jokes? Its a game stream, the players who are good enough to carry 2 people by themselves deserve the most viewers imho
-
Cheap way to get viewers would be viewbotting. What they're doing is helping people do something they normally couldn't do on their own.
-
Edited by ChuckFinley: 1/13/2016 8:49:03 PMMost don't do it only for followers. They just want to carry bad people so their ELO goes up
-
I seen a guy this weekend charging $25 to play on his team and if you paid $50 you would jump ahead of the people who paid 25...BUT IF PEOPLE ARE THAT DUMB THEN GOOD JOB STREAMER
-
It gets pretty annoying after a while, I know I'm sick of it.
-
Some of us do it because we want to give back. I don't do it for views
-
3 RepliesI don't like it. Never have. I dont like how going to the lighthouse (something i take pride in) can be easily attained by people who arent good enough to achieve the accomplishment themselves just by them masturbaiting a streamers ego and getting them to help.
-
1 ReplyAs long as they don't force you to subscribe its fine. Sometimes they are fun to watch. One of my PSN friends (mrzombiefighter on twitch) does lighthouse runs for free and hes a crazy welshman so always fun.
-
People do it all the time for selfishness. You think your friends carry you out of the kindness of thier heart haha they do it cause the game's gotten boring or because they need a new challenge (having a handicap). You're just another level of entertainment in itself. Why not get views for it anyway. Your playing the game regardless why not throw in a few streams while you're at it.
