QUESTION: Touch of Malice and Black Spindle
I got 2 questions about 2 of the best exotic weps for King's Fall, and hopefully you guys can help me out. (I started Destiny a month ago)
First a question about Black Spindle: How do i get this badass sniper rifle? I watched youtube and it seems pretty complicated. So would be nice if anyone could maybe help me get it at the next time its a daily story. Im at 299 light atm, im guessing ill be atleast 305-310 when it returns.
Now for the Malice question: Does the Calcified Fragment part of the quest require 45 total (all time, 5 for the first part and 40 for last part) or does it require 5 for the first part and 45 for the 2nd part of the calcifieed fragments (50 total) So my question here is simple, does it require total of 45 or 50 calcified fragmetns with the 1st and 2nd calcified fragments part combined?

Would not even sweat getting a TOM, the only part it's useful for is daughters, seriously that's it. Oryx can be staggered from a team sniping him just as easily as a team with TOM. The only reason I would get it is for the grimoire and emblem and just to say you have one, but deff not needed for the raid.

Touc of malice is complex. The first 5 unlocks a few quests like sword and malice. But after that, you have to collect 15 in total and do a few more missions, then the quest stops, then collect an additional 15 (up to 30 now) do a few missions (it might just be one at this point not sure) then the quest stops, and then collect 15 more, and finish the final two missions, one undying mind heroic, and the next similar to your first taken King mission on Phobos, but it's a special 270 light heroic in which you have to kill just the wizard on the side of the boss room.

If you're on the Xbox,I'll gladly help you with spindle. For Touch of Malice,for the first part to get the quest,you need to collect 5. The next part you will need to pick up more until you have 30 then you will need to pick up even more until you have 45 in all. There are a few other side quests you'll have to go through though.

Final step fear embrace heroic Black spindle speed run on lost of light get to the door where how strike started then get ready to fight a small army of taken and their boss. No guarantee drop you can get the sniper or ship. I got lucky and got the sniper on my first completion

45 total, but they all need to be on that character, which can be tricky, if you e already grabbed some on an alternate, as they are tricky to track. For the spindle, in my experience, having an exotic solar sword in the group helped a TON. I helped two friends get theirs, and we struggled mightily a couple weeks before, but sliced through it like nothing once I had that exotic solar beast going.

6 RepliesYou need 45 total fragments and i bet you won't be 305 by the time it comes back. Unless you have a team who plan on getting you into the raid and getting the stuff, I highly doubt it.

Its only available when that mission is the Daily Heroic mission like it was yesterday. (Finally got mine last night). Power up....and bring a good, and trusted fireteam. Because it is one of the hardest missions in the game because of the difficulty and the time limit. I got mine last night with 23 seconds to spare. Reasons for failure? Spending too much time clearing out the room where the Fallen walker is in the Taniks strike. Focusing too much on the adds in the final boss room. Best strategy seems to be to take him out as fast as possible with a WoD and exotic swords....so he isn't continually spamming blinding spheres at you. Then focus on taking out the blights. Then once the blights are gone, focus on clearing out the remaining adds. 2. It only needs 45 total. Doesn't matter which 45. But it has to be 45 fragments in the possession of THAT character. It can't be 45 spread out among all your characters.

Edited by SpartanDog: 1/7/2016 7:12:02 PMFor Touch of Malice you need 45 total. And it goes it stages. The quests are the "Hunger" quests and each requires a certain number of fragments. I forget the exact number for each, but it once you reach that amount (say 15 for the first quest), the next Hunger quest won't appear until you get 30 fragments. Same for the 45. So don't worry when the quest disappears, just keep finding frags and the next will pop up. You get the 45 fragments mostly from exploring the dreadnought and finding them (like ghosts in yr1). This includes things like the skyburners key, court of oryx and a few other activities. There are several in the court of oryx from combinations of stolen ruin bosses, and Each antiquated ruin boss has one. The rest will be in a few mission: Regicide has a few, as does Sunless Cell strike if I remember. The raid also has 3 (or 4... It's been a while...) fragments. And you'll also have to get the parts from the raid to complete the gun in addition to the fragments by beating bosses in the raid. Your best bet is to look up on YouTube the locations of each. There are a few good walkthroughs that show each location. It's not really difficult at all. The only annoying thing is waiting each week for the tier 3 boss in the court to change when you only need one more.... Hope some of that helps :)

5 RepliesSpindle is a secondary mission in a regular daily heroic. You need 45 fragments total for Malice, and you need to do the raid for 5 of them. The rest are either challenge mode, patrol, or Court of Oryx. Some are locked inside of regular missions too

I've actually started using the sleeper simulant. It wrecks bosses and yellow health bars. The other day my team was a couple seconds behind on oryx. He had slammed and the vessel was still a third away from dying. Head shot to the vessel took him down. By then oryx was open. Shot him with the sleeper and staggered him. Don't think we would've got it if it wasn't for the sleeper. Plus it destroys shade also. For a sniper instead of the black spindle now I use 1000 yard stare with triple tap, casket mag, firefly. Allows me to shoot 7 bullets if they're all critical hits. I got the sleeper the first week it was available but I was hooked on the black spindle. Tried out the sleeper last week on some strikes and demolished bosses. Tried it out in the raid and my new raid set up is imago loop, 1000 yard, and the sleeper. I only use touch if we really need another one. Usually don't tho.

5 Replies...BS drops at only 290 now...you will need to run Raid to het it up there....in meantime...1000 yard stare and Still Piercer (Hunter exclusive sniper) are very good in raid too. I ranked these up long before I started using BS.

1 ReplyWhen it's the daily...check the LFG site...there are some guardians looking to help there as they keep running it over and over for the ship. To prepare...watch you tube videos on how to do it...timing and strategy is everything. Warlock with "self-rez" and exotic sword is helpful. Myself...I waited until I was a 315-318 Before I gave it a go..with help of a guy looking to help from LFG. Good luck!

1st part, cant say. I didn't like the Crota raid sniper, so I have no interest in the Spindle. Malice: its 45 total, since people had it before they released KF challenge mode (the way to get the last 3 fragments)
