Bungie needs to get rid of the radar for Trials and Iron Banner. Snipers can spot you in their scope before they appear on your radar. Snipers constantly switch between scope and radar to detect anyone closing in and change position. By getting rid of the radar, you remove that advantage. This allows anyone to close in and or flank snipers. If they dont know from where you are approaching, less likely they will try short range scoping.

  • How about radar is turned off when you have a sniper rifle equipped?

  • That'll just increase camping and invisible hunters. It wouldn't work

  • On the invisibility I have to agree. But camping happens thanks to the radar as well. It would make matches longer trying to find where everyone is hiding. That would be the biggest negative. Invisibility would be an issue. Specially since maps were designed taking the radar into account. There would have to be maps designed without taking radar into account. Removing radar would screw one aspect of the gameplay with some maps. Dependency on the radar favors the use for certain weapons (snipers, shotguns, primaries with third eye) in several maps. Remove radar when holding a sniper rifle or special weapon, like when heavies are held? That would be a good compromise

  • Without a radar I couldn't even go 2-0

  • Getting rid of radar would make it worse, players would move corner to corner, door to door either sniping or shotgunning.

  • That is how its being played right now. Using the radar to do exactly that.

  • You realize without a radar that would promote more camping. Especially in trials where dying is huge a team would just camp in the back with the wall behind them so they could never get flanked and sit there all match.

  • They are already camping and use the radar to know exactly when you are approaching and from what direction. They cannot cover every spot with their scope. There are physical barriers/objects that allow you to close to a range scope is inefective. How can you rush a sniper that knows you are about to pop out of a corner? Even non snipers use the radar to camp and charge you with their super because they know your general direction/distance Sword and shotgun users use radar to camp as well. Iron banner and trials should play by hardcore rules. Radar is fine for general crucible play.
