>Uses TLW and Ram
>Complains about camping
Bitch you are part of the problem, not the solution. And don't go telling me "I have to be stay competitive," because we both know that's bullshit.

I might use last word and ram but at least i get my kills on my feet not spawn camping with a sniper. Primaries not being able to challenge special weapons is a big problem. The game was mutch more fast paced at the begining now it is about campers. The last iron banner is a proof. Whitout need to capture zone people were just sitting on spawn with their 1000 yards of aim assist.
-
I might be using a bullshit setup but at least I'm not using the FotM
Primaries should only be able to poke, but not challenge, specials in their appropriate ranges. Also, the 1KYS effectively has no more AA than HoW's Benevolence, especially now that it's harder to get a perfect roll. Cry more.
-
Thats why people snipe from shotgun range because "specials work at intended ranges'
-
I don't see how you propose to eliminate quickscoping from the game, especially given its pseudo-random nature.
-
1. Increase the flinch (no way i get headshot while pumping lead in your head first), 2. increase zoom on scopes so snipers work on intended ranges, 3. reduce aim assist so that quick scope and drag scope become 'pseudo random' and not kids play. 4. I don't mind hard scope (if i cross your line of sight or catch me sitting in the open you should be able to blow my head of. 5. with blink and shot guns being nurffed there is no longer effective method on closing gaps on snipers so increase the range on primaries so that we are at least able to chase you off your camping nests (thorn was excellent for that purpose and snipers were bitching about it). Destiny is characterized by having a radar (i.e finding campers and shooting them) and long ttk (i.e the instakill sniper meta should go). If bungie killed the blink shot gun because it was easy instakill they should do the same with the current sniper instakill meta.
-
No, crucibabies are the only problem. Want to bitch about the meta? Then blame the people who caused it, not the ones who adapt to it.
-
The problem is that something become strong, so people bitch about how strong it is, letting other people know to use it, thus creating a feedback loop. The problem isn't that so much that a weapon is OP, but that a weapon is OP and overused because of it. This reflects in the usage numbers that Bungie supposedly uses for balance, while also making your opponents' lives shitty. Be the bigger person.

And what, be at a competitive disadvantage? And for what, some misguided sense of fair play in a video game with no real stakes? First you have to be good with a weapon to use it effectively. I sucked something awful with hand cannons, especially the last word, so I used red death. Player's individual skill must be taken into account because that doesn't show up on a spread sheet or a crucibaby post.
-
e-Bushido is real. Two elements to player skill. The first is positioning, the second is gunwork. Both are taken into account when people consult spreadhseet data, otherwise you would see people insisting that sniper/shotgun are the best weapon because of their OHK, or that Necrochasm is the best primary due to its lowest TTK.
-
I feel like Necrochasm is the best AR right now. If I want a bullet hose, then I want the king of bullet hoses. Suros/Monte Carlo seem also pretty strong.
-
There is a Hakke bullet hose I got with focused fire and smallbore. Extra damage, fires fast, and good range. Armillius-D (something like that)
-
I'm sure it isn't, you know how many spray and pray players I've seen in pvp? A whole damn lot
-
Necrochasm? According to the exxtrooper spreadsheet, it's got best-in-class TTK, matched by Atheon's and surpassed only by the Mytho. Yet we never saw much of the former two, and we continue to not see much of Touch of Malice because, despite the nice theoretical values, it doesn't carry over to real-world performance.
-
Not with that f'd up exotic perk lol
-
You're clearly missing the point, but whatever.
-
No I get your point, I just don't agree with your overall thesis.

Edited by rapiemur: 12/15/2015 4:52:10 AMI was the same way. I resisted getting onboard the easy hand cannon bandwagon in the crucible with last word or thorn essentially right up until the very end. I loved using my MIDA because it greatly rewarded actual skill (situational awareness with the strafing and fast putdowns with good headshot accuracy). Once I picked up a last word to combat the excessive thorn usage, crucible became boring for me as it was just point and shoot. Thorn usage was even worse. Throw one firebolt grenade with viking funeral on, and hit the person with the Thorn once in the head and they were dead. They either died in front of you from the double stack of the burns or they'd try and get behind cover and die over there. It required no skill whatsoever, which I found pathetic. What made it even worse was you could eliminate an entire group of people doing that. Just threw the firebolt into a group of people and then pegged each one with the Thorn once and they all went down.
-
But to a degree that is skill, to place the grenade and your follow up shots while almost assuredly under return fire takes skill.
