Shotguns needed a range nerf, but only a range nerf

They didn't need another one. With the blink delay and the shot package removal, they were absolutely acceptable. This nerf was simply unnecessary. Be it range or the rest.

I will disagree. Shotguns offered meaningful counterplay with the shot package removal already. The ranges weren't outrageous anymore, and slightly outside of melee range. The current range makes me wonder, if there's even a point to shotguns right now. Melee range is not enough for a shotgun.

You'll get a sniper bodyshot switch to primary/grenade combo, long before you close any gaps with your shotgun. And if it's not that, you'll just eat a full auto TLW magazine. The current range is comical, independently of fusion rifles.

That's was always the problem. Everyone blamed the weapon instead of Bungie's shitty map designs. When every map is close quarters, what other than a shotgun would you use, because the only other cqb weapon type in the game (high rof Autorifles) only tickle your opponent.

I used to use a Pocket Infinity on close quarters maps all the time, but they nerfed the shit out of that before shotguns even. Their weapons design department apparently has the mental aptitude of a baboon.

I stopped using primaries when pocket infinity was in its prime. Then they nerfed special ammo drops and fusion rifle accuracy. No more PI after that

I remember when the game first came out all special weapons felt fairly balanced between each other. Fusion had a good accurate medium range but required that charge up. Shotguns for major gap closers and snipers have always had their obvious place. These nerfs have been just way too much.

Nerfs were what made me quit. I took one look at that 2.0 Super Nerf before it was even released and immediately was done because the imbeciles at Bungie nerfed every single gun in my entire arsenal (either through not bringing it forward into TTK, like Ice Breaker and Ghorn,, or nerfing the stats/perks).
