"Destiny is non-stop pointless grind"

Every time I see a post like this (there's one every other post it seems) I can't help but think these have to be 15 year olds complaining. There's no way a grown adult who grew up gaming on Nintendo and SNES and other past systems that didn't have the luxury of the Internet complains about stuff like this. Grind? I've been grinding games since i started gaming. Mario, street fighter 2, mortal kombat and so on and so forth. I beat those games more than I can count and for why? Because it was fun. They're still fun, and they don't give you any rewards even close to what destiny gives you. We got cutscenes as the reward and knowing you beat the game. All you pussies who are complaining are just entitled little brats that expect everything for free and that everyone should adhere to all your needs. Grow up. It's a game. If you don't like it take it back. You have that freedom to do so. You also have the freedom to complain and be a little bitch and you're exercising that to the fullest. Get these turds some pacifiers, stat!!!

  • Normally I'd throw in a reference to my decade of playing WoW... But it's true, the grind was real, long before that. Every JRPG I played was padded with hours and hours of grinding. There were weapons and items that if you missed a small window of opportunity to acquire them, they were lost Forever in that play through. Most didn't have a NG+ feature, so if you wanted to replay them, it was back to square one. Even action games had their own sort of rote memorization grind, as they were nigh impossible to pick up and beat on your first attempt (or 30th).

  • You are so right. This is a feedback forum and people have the right to come here and voice their concerns and complaints. You know if you don't like it you could just not log on to the forum. Or you could come in here and act like a little bitch and attempt to tell people what to feel and how to think.

    • Your argument is flawed. Those games all come from an era that was extremely restricting. Hardware limitations, lack of Internet and a gaming industry still growing all influenced those games. At the time, it was fine for a game to be repetitive & a grind, simply because that was the norm. It's now 2015, none of those restrictions apply to Destiny. They have the finance & means to supplement this game continuously and to some extent, lessen the grind… not eradicate it, but bring it to a reasonable level. Instead, they use grinding to extend the game as opposed to supplementing it with actual content. So your comparison is null.

      • Old games were fun and didn't rely on addictive lottery loot.

      • When are they going to realise that to unlock stuff in a different game there's going to be more grind?

      • Those games were also a lot funner than destiny, so your argument about appreciating the fact you're playing destiny is void. The game is reliant on loot drops to keep people playing.

I'm sure you don't remember that system I do I'm an old gamer. I also remember street fighter. I'm glad you brought up the old consoles I remember the days when you bought a game it was functional no patch every week or so for 40 bucks . Before you let the shit run down you're! !! Chin. P's and Xbox was online with 8 bit memory cards. No patches needed every month or monthly. Bungie aka desshitty.is and always will be a broken beta. Just facts

          • All games are a grind. The true test of a "great game" is how well that grind is masked. In that area alone Destiny is a fail. I'm not saying I don't love the game, it just leaves me wanting. Other games I've played give me closure at some point whereas destiny does not and I personally am done with it. That's not saying destiny doesn't have some great aspects (some of the best seen yet) like gun play, character movement, and graphics. The problem for me is it feels hollow now, at first glance to a new player destiny appears hugely expansive for a time. Then that mirage starts to fade until all you're left with is the same repetitive thing rehashed and reskinned over and over. That's a truth, I'm not apologizing for saying it and I'm apologetic to anyone who takes any offense. I do like destiny a lot as anyone can see by my hours played but, my ride is over due to their inability to proceed past what they've been doing for a year.

          • Once they understand the point is not the grind but the grind is the point perhaps they will calm down.

          • I don't think it's really the grind, it's not getting good rewards or satisfaction. In games like GTA it's fun grinding for money. Just like grinding for experience in both my Pokemon and digimon games. That's where the biggest problems are I think.
