I was running the raid the other day when a thought crossed my mind..."I dont believe Ive seen a sidearm drop...?..." I recognize that there is no sidearm currently available from the Kings Fall Raid (atleast none have dropped and there are none on any data mined tracker sites to my knowledge). Even though I dont find myself utilizing sidearms too frequently, several of my friends love them and I do like the concept and even enjoy using them on patrols...
I dont know how often sidearms are used or even their overall popularity but they are by this expansion, a definitive new gun in the special category that seems here to stay...but if they are to fully roll into circulation and become recognized as a normative weapon in Destiny I feel as though they need to be christened as a Raid gun as well and have a Kings Fall designed sidearm as well...For those that love them it would be an awesome addition as all the raid weapons have looked phenomenal thus far, and if people dont desire them there is always items that need infusing, everyone wins...
TL;DR I'd sincerely love to see sidearms join the family of amazing and coveted raid gear that we all seek to obtain not just for my friends sake but for anyone who enjoys using them, and feel as though it would be a great way for them to stick in individuals minds as normative destiny weapon...
Feel free to leave a bump like or your opinion on the matter and sign below if you agree, hopefully with enough traffic and desire Bungie will consider adding one to the raid family ^-^
Have fun raiding yall...

I agree

Bump. I love my jabberhawke. It makes quick work of any centurion. I'm trying to find one with better perks, but no luck so far.

-
Bump. As we've seen with ironwreath at the red bull thing, they could be amazing. Give us a special sidearm
-
I wish they would make side arms a lil more powerful. Vestian dynasty was so much fun to use but that was pretty much the only good side arm I've come across. Iron wreath is pretty good too but it still feels under powered. If they made it a lil easier to get head shots with them I think that'd be enough to make them viable.

I'd love to see that. That'll do, Sidey, that'll do....*pets Iron Wreath lovingly*

Bump, I feel side arms are a joke the way Bungie implemented them. House of wolves, there were two the entire time and imo dregs promise was trash. And now there are still very few good side arms. Bungie improve the way side arms are implemented or just take them out

3 RepliesSigned and agreed. Sidearms are a great addition to the loot pool. I was initially nervous to run one in crucible, but soon got over it when I had realized how deadly they were. 5-6 shots equals a kill, and they're just so quick.
Hobgoblins won't use their shields if you use a side arm
Side arms wreck in crucible you're just a scrub

3 RepliesEdited by The_Brasher25: 11/6/2015 3:18:35 PMSidearms are stupid. Snipers and shotguns FTW Sidearm is essentially a back up pistol.
-
Edited by the Crab Ninja: 11/7/2015 4:11:03 PMStrangely enough I had a piece of raid armor drop yesterday with increased reload speed for SIDEARMS! My raid team and I all had a good laugh as I dismantled it.

11 RepliesYou'd probably get kicked if you're using a side arm. The most helpfull gun is a sniper. Remember raiding is a team effort. Some say shutgun is usefull for yellow knights at totems but somebody's gotta take down the boomers with a sniper. If you're thinking this way, then use a sword instead and keep a sniper to help with boomers.

12 RepliesIt dropped for me from Xylar
-
1 ReplyYeah it would be nice, although cocoon would be worthless on side arms unless they decreased the reload all the way down and have better range/impact to compensate, although it would be pretty op in crucible if they did that
-
1 ReplySide arms can be fun, but you have to spam the fire button to make them effective in any meaningful way... Why use them if primaries do a better a job at the same distance? Shot guns for close combat, high dmge Snipers for long range, high dmge Fusions for medium to close range, high dmge Side arms for pewpewpew, mediocre dmge and a worn out trigger finger
-
2 RepliesIronwreath, the sidearm from Iron Banner, does work in crucible. And it has a silencer too.

Yes please. Sidearms are a solid weapon for usage and deserve to be treated as such. Bungie can't expect people to really adapt and use new weapon types instead of the old ones if they don't make them shine. The way swords have been adopted is actually the right way, barring no raid sword. Swords had a quest and multiple fights were using a sword is pptimal. Opportunities to make it shine and tie an experience to the weapon. Sidearms never got that treatment. You got 1 for free and there was an exotic tied to the exact same quest for two competing (and very good) exotics. On top of that sidearms are in a weapon category know for DPS output with out bungie really showing casuals where and how it should be used. Swords could have been in a similar position if they hadn't given you missions where you go and wreck majors with it and kill enemies in crucible.

13 RepliesYou ain't staggering oryx with a sidearm bruh
-
11 RepliesSidearms... Great concept, but didn't really work out. Anyone still have a dregs promise?
-
2 RepliesI'd rather have a raid Sword.
-
agreed not sure why bungie didnt put one in unless its an exotic or if its from challenge mode
-
3 RepliesAdd option to equip sidearms in primary and special slots. If 2 sidearms are equiped at same time you then akimbo them. Losing the option to aim down sight, but left and right triggers fires each gun. Pleeeez

Is there a trials side arm? We know IB has one.
