Does reforging change a weapon's elemental attribute?

I've never reforged a special or heavy weapon before. Will doing so change its element (i.e. Arc, Solar, Void)? Thanks!

Yep. If the weapon is a special or heavy, reforging randomizes the element as well as the perks.
