Parents permited playing

So, my parents felt like it's necessary to take away my xbox to make me focus on school and do more with my friends. But the problem is i'm not bad at school, I got a 2,5 Average Grade Cut whatever it's called like in english :D That would be like B's and C's in america i guess. Also I'm doing a lot with my friends, not as much as people did when videogames didn't exist , about 3 or 4 times a week, even if I'm at school 3 times week untuil 18o' clock. What bothers me is that i really enjoy playing destiny and all this "We take away your games" stuff didn't changed my attitude at all. I'm really upset at the moment and I can't think of a good argument to show them that this is not necessary, so I thought that i can ask the bungie community because of an major part of nice and mature people who could come up with a great idea in solving my "problem"/helping with my current situation :) PS: I don't wanna do anything that could harm me and impede me in my future life (BTW I am 16) I count on you guardians! :)

  • Here's what you do, this is the best answer here I promise tell them your 16 and responsible enough to know to get important stuff done first then you'll enjoy games later Its obvious they don't understand games show some you can interact with friends on it and it doesn't "dumb" your mind like some parents believe your 16 you can drive your mature enough.

    • A 2.5 is a god awful GPA. They did the right thing.

      • Just do your homework first (and well) before playing. make sure that you show them that school is your priority, and that destiny is a hobby which is important to have as well. You might find that you work harder in order to get the reward of playing destiny, so then homework might come easier. :)

      • Four words to my fellow Guardian: "Work hard, play hard". Might seem tough now but believe me, you'll be thanking your parents in the long run. Playing Destiny and having an average grade in school is NOT going to help you down the line. If you really love video games, try applying it to what you're learning in school i.e projects, essays, etc. The video game industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, and it sounds like to me that you would do very well joining that workforce after you get an education. Just something to consider buddy!:) I was 16 once too so I feel ya' bro.

      • Get A's and the problem goes away, I understand you want to play but your grades only sound average. I would take my son's Xbox away too, now if you were getting A's and they won't give it back then that's another thing.

      • I'm a parent that plays Destiny with my 15 year old. Homework and chores come first. Always. I get it! I get lost in Destiny for hours at times. The thing is you only get one shot at school. The harder you work now, the harder you get to play later!$$$$$$

      • Focus on school. Play destiny on the weekends when you've finished your school work.

      • You should abide by your parents wishes. You are not an adult yet. They support you in every way imaginable and want what is best for their child. When grades drop, parents will find out why and try to fix it. That's what we do; make sure you are on the right track in life and make sound decisions. Destiny is a game and an escape from reality. It is easy to get lost in a game but it is important to remember that your future is more important than playing games. Do well in school and earn your game back. Don't get lost in it.

      • Just focus on your school work for a month, till your parents are satisfied. This coming from a 2.75 student, down from a 3.0 because of destiny

      • Focus on school. It's more important. When your work is done, then play. Not to mention it gives you more incentive to do better. B/C average is not great. And can easily descend into C/D if you're not focused. The closer you get to finishing school, the harder the work, and the more work required to accomplish. Your first priority should be schoolwork. It sucks. But that's the way things work. Yes, I understand this is a buzz kill answer.
