I know what the title sounds like but hear me out. In crucible super close range (against a full health enemy with shield) is never desirable unless your ambushing someone. In most of those cases you don't use melee, you either use a shotgun or shoulder charge.
Most players use melee when they need that extra damage (because there already damaged) to KO there enemy or to get themselves out of a situation. That being said in a type of situation like a ranged melee is necessary. This is one of the things makes the warlock and hunter such great PvP options . With a hunter knife or a warlock melee, mid-to-close range encounters become way more plausible.
But that is not the case for the titan. With no ranged melee the titan is forced to get into one hit shotgun ranged to score a melee hit. Even then that hit doesn't guarantee a kill.
So what my question to the committee is this;
With TTK on the horizon should Bungie, buff the titan melee, add a ranged melee to the new subclass, or leave it as is?

Melees are a given gamble, regardless of class. Warlocks can miss with there melee along with a hunters throwing knives. Titans aren't handicapped in this regard.
