It's a bit late from the actual day but whose counting lol. As of February 3rd I have joined the 7th year club! I have been a part of this community for 7 years now and boy has it been interesting. Since the number 7 is such a big thing in Bungie and the community, I think I will make this post a special one with a stroll down memory lane. For the few that have stuck through the changes and reached the same milestone ans me or have been planted here long before, you will remember the old days of how this community use to be. The community was more tight-nit and smaller than it is now which boaster a more rich and unified place on the internet for all things Halo. A time when "Can i haz Rec0n?" was a common sight in the threads and when The Flood was a mighty and powerful entity. I remember some of the old running jokes like "Blame Stosh" and that the webmaster is actually a gorilla in a cowboy hat, and who can forget the different messages that the webpage tab use to display (I miss those). One of the things I remember is that community challenges where the whole community would come together to solve a complex riddle that would sometimes take days to figure out was a more common place thing. So much has happened in the last seven years it's tough to try to keep it all in a short enough post people will read. Some of you might know me from a few years ago when I was a lot more active on the forums than I am now, others see me pop in once in a while. Now that I have finished my first few years of schooling and got my degree in Graphics Design i hope to be more present on the forums before I go back to school for a degree in Video game design and buried in school work. Voyaging with this community for so long I got to witness and experience many of the changes that have turned this community into what it is today. Some of those changes were good, others threw the community into dark times but in the end we always rebuilt and joined back together with scars here and there. That's what I love about this community, we all have our differences (even more so now) but we still find a way to make this a great place discuss and share ideas. Thanks for being such a great community! P.S. Bungie if you are reading this then my one Bnet birthday wish is for the Dark Theme to come back, or a titan helmet that is wolf themed cause I am so close to making my titan all wolfed themed and after this week that will be like the only thing missing.
