I started young, as an outlet for my boredom while travelling with family. I found an outlet in art, and continued on and off throughout my life. I taught myself 2/3 point perspective at 9. When in HS i found a teacher that recognized my ability, and took AP art classes throughout my HS years. I attended a CC for art classes, and when time came to choose, it was either a Math/physics path{MIT scholarship) or art courses. I chose art, not so much because it was the career i wanted, but because i had such a passion for it. In comes SCAD, i have classical training in all disciplines, with focus on human anatomy, acting and animation techniques, i studied under a a teacher who was a tweener for tex avery and chuck jones. Upon graduating, and looking at some of the requirements to get into my field, i took a job doing engineering work for a more stable money inflow. Since then my art participation has been fluctuating.
My current focus is to get back into painting, and perhaps a little 2d animation. My current focus in styles will be pop surrealism, polka trash, tattoo styles, and of course a little animation. My family has a history of artists, painters, musicians, diamond cutters, and jewelry makers, so i feel almost the need to get back to my roots.
If you want any advice on techniques, or constructive criticism, i will be more than glad to assist.
As far as moderating the group, ill assist in any way i can, provide tutorials for techniques, which i have a plethora from an old art group i ran, and will be discouraging elitism, which can be a nuisance within the art community.
Otherwise, I will shortly pull my HS and college portfolios, digitize the bastards, and show some of my work, its been a long time coming, and hopefully, if this is a good community in the long run, will help me find new motivations to pursue my craft.
