ive been trying to get back into destiny 2 after a period of falling of with the game and ive been having fun my only issue is that even though ive not played in years and have always had a horrible kd and elo even when i did play back then is that i find myself going up againt people in the top 20% (according to destiny tracker) and who have gone flawless more times than i can count I'm not a good pvp player as much as I try to be but i know i should be going up against what would and should be the bottom of the barrel pvp players so what i want to know is why this matchmaking system remains in place. is it genuinely something developers struggle with making and they are working on it or is this just something more or less thats been swept under the rug by the team meaning i should just try and forget about the competitive multiplayer feature as a whole as I do not have the skill to improve my gunplay when going up against these top tier players

Because the last match you played seems to make up for 90% of where you'll get placed next.
