Vault Space is Still an Issue

So, I keep trimming and trimming guns and armor out of my vault space to the point where I have relatively few duplicates. Just spent an hour going through and ditching as much as I am currently willing to let go. Still only have 10 open spaces. One of two things needs to happen. Either A.) you increase vault capacity or B.) make all weapons craftable with their current perk pools and allow us to switch between perks without the expensive resource requirement. The balance between inventory management and actually playing the game is way out of tune.

  • Vault space is 100% an issue especially when running three characters Funny how bungie just ignores the issue despite it coming up every few weeks Guess they need to come up with a good excuse why they can’t implement it. Game also needs load outs If DIM can do it for free what is bungie getting paid for ???? Oh I forgot they nerf things… 😂

  • It used to be 100 at launch. Man I thought when it opened up to 500 my inventory would never fill. Bungie please make vault space go to 5000.

  • TLDR; I’m on Team Increase Vault Space. I’d love to see them increase it, as I’m somebody that is right on the verge of 500. However!!!!! I have: -1 of every exotic armor and weapon. -40 legendary armor pieces for each character broken down by stat spikes + 4 class items. -1 of every pinnacle/ritual weapon. -20ish sunset normal weapons I keep for nostalgia. So you can see I’m “wasting a bit of space already.” But I also: -ensure I have only 1 roll of each weapon in my vault. -try to have 1 of each element/archetype. (I.e…I have 1 arc 140 handcannon) -if element/archetype do match, make sure the weapons serve different roles (I.e… I have a void bow for raw damage, and I for match game environments). At the end of each play session, I equip a sunset weapon in each slot and vault all weapons. The legendary armor is moved from the vault to the character. When I log in, I vault the armor I’m not using, and grab the weapons I’ll use from the vault. After all this, my vault looks as if it has around 400ish while I’m playing but really sits in the 480s-490s.

  • Bungie raises vault space to 1000. Next season Players complain we need more vault space.

  • Keep one or two sets of armor on any character other than the equipped one, for different elements and builds. Toss all other non-exotic armor in the vault. Especially easy now since Ada's bounties are easy to do. Harder with weapons I know, but some you just have to part with.

Vault space isn't an issue. You guys just have a hordeing issue. I've seen people that carry 8 of the same gun. That's your issue.

        • If they were smart they’d integrate crafting into collections. Have the perks you’ve unlocked to pick and pull. Dunzo

          • Stop hoarding. Vault space isn't an issue if you have bad luck and don't get good loot to put in it so it sounds like a personal problem and a skill issue and there are far more important things that need Bungies attention.

            • I've suggested creating menus like we have for emotes for ships, ghosts and sparrows. That would free up storage space. Also let us reacquire stuff once we've earned it. I'd trash stuff if I knew that I could get it back for 500 glimmer.

            • With the current armor system, you can keep a couple sets and set up the looks how ever you want. Guns you only need a few solid rolls on guns that span the elemental burns and and allow you to carry an exotic weapon where you need it. Outside of that, you can hang on to whatever you want, which for me was the pinnacle weapons which were sunset, and some vanilla guns that I liked. I'm at about half capacity, but I might go through it and thin it out again.

              • Vault Space is necessary for people who want to have fun. Many people like to use weapons that are not optimal or godrolls just for the aesthetics or they enjoy weapons from earlier seasons. Why does Bungie have such tremendous trouble coding more vault space? Also, why do idiots, who think Destiny is a job, defend Bungie when they fail to do just a simple thing that would bring enjoyment to so many players?

I went from 500 to just over 300 in preparation for the witch queen. Needless to say, my issue, much like everyone else's issue is holding onto weapons you are not utilizing. I guarantee no one is using 500 or less different weapons in their daily grind. Sounds more like no one is on board with an evolving Destiny world and just want to remain in the past.

              • Today was the first time since the launch of D2 I went to put away some guns and it said it was full, it literally took years and when I looked at what was in there most of it could be deleted. This really is a non issue

                • a workaround until Bungie does something... In Discord voice chats you can click to "share screen". Pull up DIM and have a few clan members or friends help you go through it and make some tough decisions as indecisiveness is often 1 of the factors. It got me down to 400 and many other people much lower than that.

It will always be an issue till they address it. Which is annoying because they keep adding more and more, with no place to put it. And crafting only made it worst cause of the materials needed, and people storing redbox weapons. If they don't want to add more spaces, fine. Then at least make collections work as a collection. We should be able to pull a static roll of everything we have gotten before from it. That way, when sandbox changes are made and if we deleted something affected by those changes, we can use that while grinding for the roll we want.

I'm at the point where I have zero duplicates and nothing but weapons and armour in the vault, and I still have issues with inventory. In fact, I have eliminated many of the weapons, including exotics, and kept only the best in each class and fire rate (and even eliminated many of those), and I still have an issue. I removed all of the sundowned weapons and armour, and I still have an issue because there's still so much kit in the game that it fills the vault with each new seasonal release. Long-time players will remember when collecting was supposedly the end game. Inventory management is the end-game in Destiny.

                  • I now have other characters holding items their class can't use.... because they have extra pockets... it's a work around, that's more messy then functional. Because if I need an item I have to swap between characters, and that's a mess even with apps helping me.... which they don't.

                  • TBH you could trim a lot and be fine. I have at least one masterworked copy of every piece of exotic armor in the game, as well as a dozen or so well-rolled legendary armor pieces for each class. I have one or more of every good raid/dungeon weapon, along with dozens of adept Trials, NF, and master VoG guns. That's on top of all good seasonal/world loot weapons from the last few years. Still have 90 vault spaces. And I could cut more if I'm honest. I play all endgame content and have not once needed a gun archetype I didn't have. (Having said that, I still agree we need more space, lol)
