I know I just made a post about this gun, but someone made a great point in the comments on another post and I wanted to stress it. Collective Obligation feels like it relies on void 3.0 and seasonal mods to be even okay. It makes more sense to be the seasonal exotic, since one can only imagine it will lose a lot of value (it already has very little) when the season ends. Compared to past raid exotics which have basically permanent value, this one feels temporary. Even if it weren’t as weak as it is, I can’t see anyone using this gun going forward into future seasons.
All said, Collective Obligation doesn’t feel like a reward, it doesn’t excite me, and I would have loved a darkness-themed exotic.

I actually hate it when this thing drops because it COULD'VE been a Deepsight Raid gun with a Raid perk for those Drowned element I desperately crave to get enhanced Bait and switch

2 RepliesI’ll bet big money that they were gonna make collective the seasonal and Osteo the raid, but switched it last second. Makes more sense that way when you look at it

I like it but it needs more. I’d add frenzy on the catalyst and even souldrinker to it personally but that’s just my opinion. It could have been the seasonal I agree and just made the raid glaive exotic and give it some really cool stuff.

4 RepliesLubrae's Ruin should have been the raid exotic. It's the boss's weapon, for crying out loud. Collective Obligation is nice and all, but it doesn't seem like "raid exotic" material.

Libra’s Ruin should have been the raid weapon

It’s pretty trash. It works well with 3.0 sort of but if that were the case it should’ve been the seasonal exotic. However Grand Overture is better than it already so it just seems like a failed exotic. I’m gonna try a build for it sometime but I’m skeptical.

1 ReplyCollective Obligation would have been better with intrinsic volatile rounds and multi-kills generate ability energy , plus extra damage against Scorn and Taken They simply overthought it, and made it gimmicky
-
1 ReplyI would have to agree. Hell, if we move some sticks, we could make parasite work as the raid gun.

Edited by StinkyDelicious: 4/9/2022 8:50:11 PMOsteo is an amazing gun and would make an excellent raid exclusive. Maybe they should have switched the acquisition source of those two weapons. I have no desire to farm the raid for that pulse. I would have farmed the raid for osteo, it's worth it.

Got the raid exotic on my 3rd looted clear. I threw it in the vault and haven't touched it since.

I got it and haven’t felt the need to use it, I agree.

Just a little story from earlier this week.. Did my first Vow run this week, and as an avid pulse user, I was praying I got the pulse from the final chest. I did the backwards walk with the rest of my team, and when I got excited I got it, my team was sitting there confused. I was there going "I GOT IT!! I GOT IT!! WOOOHOO!!", and then I was asked why I was so excited, as I didn't get the exotic. I told them I was willing to give up my left testicle for Insidious to drop, as I wanted an aggressive pulse so badly (miss BF so much), and the ability to farm it for crafting. Collective Obligation on the other hand, even as an avid high impact and aggressive pulser, doesn't interest me in the slightest. I actually would have been pretty bummed to get it over Insidious.

I totally agree. Not even excited to do the raid anymore aside for crafting reasons.
