While it's a solid pulse rifle, it's biggest downfall is the fact that you have to run a void build to use it's exotic perks. Even then you only get about 1.5 mags of fun and by comparison this is easily the weakest raid exotic. With weakening and volatile rounds your looking at something like 30-40% damage buff while tarrabah gets a 100% buff over multiple mags. Mythoclast becomes a special weapon after a couple kills. Anarchy buff dps by 30% & can add clear. Divinity debuffs by 40% and add a crit bubble.
Once this season ends and the artifact mods go away it's just going to get worse for this exotic.
So I think they could remove the leeching cooldown, since as is, it can be tricky getting all 3 void effects. Next precision kills should cause void explosions that apply all 3 void effects to enemies caught in the explosion. This way your not forced to always run a void subclass if you want to use this exotic and it's more likely you can use it's perks in pvp.

2 RepliesWhy use collective obligation when Graviton Lance exists
-
I agree, I feel as if for exotics to be good they either have to offer extremely high utility or beat the damage meta of that point in time.
-
4 out of 6 raid team members have got this Exotic early this time around. Literally none of us has felt like sacrificing Exotic slot for that crap.
-
That's the point of it...to be used with void 3.0

It is difficult to really buff the gun tweaking the existing dials it possesses; more damage is a bad and boring solution, this doesn't mean it doesn't need damage, but i don't think personally think it does. the availability of how easy it is for you to get the void debuffs is entirely depending on your ability to already apply those debuffs without the gun and the more you're able to do that the less you need the gun to be able to, i think the game needs another source of suppression that isn't just the worse of 7 grenades which may help the gun also but that's a different topic. the void leech cooldown is in place for much the same reason the tarrabah buildup is, though it may be an overreach it is a safety mechanism to prevent the gun from being out of control, they can definitely tweak it going forward but they've very clearly decided against an outright removal during the design phase of it by virtue of it being in the game in the first place. the above pieces are available to be changed slightly but the main issues of the gun will remain for as long as the gun stays within a reasonable bound of balance, so what i wanna see is a catalyst that adds another dimension of gameplay as a way of fixing the gun rather than fixing its current aspects "completely".

12 RepliesDiv is 30%. And it is an add clear weapon for void 3.0 users. Most likely the next exotics we get in the seasons will be arc and solar 3.0 exotics too.
-
8 Replieslol no it doesn't, it's a team exotic. This exotic was very well thought out. Just because you're having a hard time using it doesn't mean the weapon is the problem.
-
So far we have four exotics that are worse than anything we have ever seen in the history of destiny. The three exotic disappointments that are the glaives (which is basically a handicap I mean common glaives are bad), and the raid pulse.

6 RepliesThe suppressing rounds seem like they will be pretty strong in endgame idk

1 ReplyEyes is definitely the weakest, pulled it out again a few days ago and it’s broken in a bad way now, for some reason if your tracking one target only one or two missiles track them the rest just blow up in place which means less kill potential and it can blow you up pretty easily, so yeah great job bungie! Eyes of tomorrow isn’t even usable anymore
-
I agree. I got it my first run.. Used it a little and pretty much forgot about it.
-
You should just be able to swap between what kind of rounds it does. Weaken rounds, volitile rounds and suppression rounds. No leaching nonsense and they could definitely tune it so it wouldn’t be busted. The whole leaching mechanic is such a turn off for me
-
I like the weapon and think it can do some really cool things but I do think it could do with some sort of ‘generic’ buff. Something like frenzy to just give it a small bump in general play.
-
I honestly forgot this was in the game lol. Got it first week, tried it out and haven’t used it since. It was fun to use but I’d rather use GL if I wanted to use an exotic void pulse or funnelweb if I wanted to use a void weapon
-
Yup. You have to completely build everything around the gun, and even then it's worse than something like funnelweb or even graviton lance. Too much investment for too little reward

4 RepliesI'd like only to point out to its name - Collective Obligation. I think i've read somewhere that the gun isn't meant to be a solo weapon, but a tool entire fireteam relies on. Wouldn't it be too busted if it's buffed, and the whole team runs it for some high-level activity? My guess is it would be. Maybe even to the point we start to see LFG posts "Collective Obligation or kick".
