Unable to Vote on Monsters vs Mechs

Whenever I click the images in the Monsters vs Mach email to vote, the error I recieve is the site is not secure. I get this error on Chrome and Safari so I'm not sure what else can be done to make it past the issue. Update: A Twitter user suggested to turn off Wi-Fi entirely and use your phone Data. That worked for me so it's worth a shot! The credit to the user is down in the comments.

  • Likely a firewall issue, which is why turning off VPN and or WiFi works.

I had the same problem where when I tried to click on the link in the email I would get an error.
This site can’t provide a secure connection t.bu ng.ie sent an invalid response. Try running Windows Network Diagnostics. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
I figured out that my xfinity modem has a feature called xfinity advanced security and it was blocking the link. It seems like bungie just recently started using this Bu ng.ie short url for their links and that is probably why it was blocked. I turned off the advanced security briefly and was able to access the email link and vote, so I'm positive the short url was being blocked. I had the same issues trying to use the link from @Bungie on twitter to view the weekly TWAB the last two weeks and had to use the direct link off the main bungie.net webpage to view it each week. After looking into it, if you are getting this error and have xfinity with an xfinity leased gateway(modem) you can also go to spa.xfinity.com and you can submit that you can't access Bungie's bu ng.ie short url website. I'm sure if we get enough people to submit the problem they will realize the problem and fix it sooner. [

    • I had the same problem and couldn’t figure it out. But finally I got it to work. Try turning off your wifi and using data on your phone, then opening the email. Click on the photo of which side you’re voting for, then wait for it to submit. It’s a bit slower but I was able to cast my vote!

      • Yeah, I dont have a phone so the "just use your phone data" is supremely un-helpful.

        • Are you already logged into bungie.net in the browser that ends up launching when you click the link?
