Title just says it all. Please allow us to apply shaders to our exotic weapons...
-
1 ReplyNot gonna happen, just look at the vex ornament, its literally a gray shader lol. Anyone that bought it with money is a fool
-
Heck, I want to transmog my exotic armour to match everything else.
-
heres the funny part, equip a exotic in the kinetic slot ..... then go to collections, and preview any shader do notice that in the preview, the shader will be applied to the weapon
-
Some ornaments are literally just shaders
-
You can, in the form of $7 Ornaments

How is Greedy, excuse me, Bungie, gonna sell exotic weapon ornaments then tho? Their main focus is the mtx shop in the game which is blown up more than that of most free to play games. D2 is f2p you say? No it is not. It is a full blown buy to play game with annual expansions and paid seasons. F2p is a demo at best. Best way to support your request is to avoid the store or entirely stop playing. Otherwise the greed will continue.

But then how will they sell me 'Chrome' as an ornament with zero other changes to the gun?

7 RepliesEdited by Black-Cat-Jinx: 4/8/2022 8:03:49 AMThe reason isn't about ornament sales. They're like "this one try hard gamer can tell what the three pixels that make up your gun are and that will somehow let him use his leet esports skillz to win the encounter." They want players to know what gun you are using before you pull the trigger. It's fuqking stupid but it is their logic. They commented i think back in d1 or early d2... didn't make sense then or now. Honestly the whole shader system needs to be overhauled from the ground up, each weapon made up of zones and apply texture and color based on shaders you've obtained to r each zone. The system we're using is so old it's collecting social security.

3 RepliesEdited by Corrick II: 4/8/2022 5:39:30 AMI don’t know why this would affect ornament sales. I like ornaments because they change the shape and details, not because they change the color. I would still buy an ornament and happily apply a shader to it if we were able.
-
I think ita a great idea plus it will make ornaments look cooler and more unique if we are able to apply shaders to them , it will even boost ornaments sales because some do look cool but the shader of some of them dont do them any justice plus bungies argument doesn't make any since because we can apply shaders to our exotic amor which sometimes hides what exotic piece they are using also if I really cared about what weapon your using I'll just look you up on the roster which people already do in comp. PvP/Trials

1 ReplyThey won't allow it, too many ornaments are basically shaders anyway
-
You've just given Bungie a great idea. I don't doubt this will be a thing. The eververse store might sell it for $$$ a couple seasons from now.
-
1 ReplyIt has nothing to do with ornament sales. Exotic armor ornaments do change with shader. Bungie just doesn’t want that for the exotic weapons it’s that simple.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Major-Payne: 4/8/2022 12:00:53 AMLmfao!!! This game must be in a great place if this is the top trending post. Shouldn’t we be talking about sparrow racing, horns or a emote wheel? I mean prioritize people.
-
But then how are they going to sell those Exotic Ornaments that are just shaders in disguise?
-
2 RepliesEdited by Demon_XXVII: 4/8/2022 9:03:41 AM“Of course, if you pay for each application in silver” - Bungie
-
11 RepliesBeen requesting this since D1. They didn't do it. Why? Because they wanted to milk it. And they did with exotic ornaments. Cash cow gaming! LMAO!!!
-
It can be done, whenever you view what a shader looks like in the collections screen on your Guardian whatever exotic weapon you are using in your primary slot also appears in that shader colour! Bit strange Bungie just don't allow us to equip a shader on exotic weapons when it is obviously already something that can be done!
-
Great idea. But bungie might be worried that it may reduce people’s desire to buy exotic ornaments.
-
Cursed concept I love it
-
For ppl saying armor ornaments can use shaders, that's because bungie don't want to plainly show the reality that half of the weapon ornaments are just actual shaders themselves putting shaders on a shader shows that
-
No. Cause then they won't sell Ornaments in Eververse and this is Bungie.
-
I agree, especially when you apply a shader preview for your whole character it actually shades the exotic too. However, we can't have exotic shaders interfering with that ornament revenue, can we...
-
9 Repliesa lot of people are understandably saying that this would make weapon ornaments less desirable, and I feel like this is most likely Bungie's reasoning as well. However Armor has ornaments and can still have shaders applied to them. Are people buying less armor ornaments than weapon ornament? Possibly Some weapon ornaments are pretty much shaders and i think this is the real reason we can't apply shaders to exotic weapons, but there are plenty of ornaments that drastically change the aesthetic of the weapon and imo being able to apply shaders to them would just make them more desirable. Bungie should definitely give us the ability to do this.

1 ReplyFunny thing is. If you have it the exotic equip and your looking at your shader for your armor. It'll also make the gun have the shader on as well. This was last season before witch queen. I had my outbreak on and some of the shader made it look really cool.
