I'm actually enjoying the current labs. Makes invaders far less annoying. The primeval stalls from the invaders forcing extra damage phases are still annoying though.
Good ideas I had to think about
1. Invaders
- Lose sight of all opposing guardians
- Locks the deposit
- After 5 seconds, drains motes as they stay alive
- Shield the primeval
They can still kill guardians and make them drop motes or heal the primeval, but it would be a much harder task as they can see where you are. You can either try to survive and get a small drain to hinder them or be aggressive for a bigger reward.
2. Guardians being invaded
- Gain sight of the invader
Now people are incentivized to go after and kill the invader to stop them from draining motes or shielding the primeval. This also creates a risk of you losing your motes or healing the primeval if you're not careful. Overall the invader is way less terrifying for them.
3. Primeval
- 3 shields maximum
After defeating 3 waves of envoys, the primeval's shields won't come back up unless someone is invading. This helps prevent an infinite stall of a team trying to kill the primeval.

I enjoyed labs a little bit more that regular gambit because the invaders weren’t as annoying but it’s still a good time either way with the right people.
-
Pro tip for this lab: have everyone on your team get 15 motes before you bank. You don’t have to worry about invaders coming and you can send 4 large blockers at once.

Gambit is a lost cause.....
-
That is actually the worst idea I have ever heard about gambit. The invader will be sent back within 5 seconds, every time.(with players who know what's going on and are not afk)

3 RepliesAgreed. The invasion swap makes so much more sense and I’ve been enjoying it.
-
That’s one of the worst takes I’ve ever seen on how the invader could be handled.

I'm down

3 RepliesEdited by Infamous067: 4/7/2022 3:15:49 AMMy thoughts? You cant even pay me to play gambit, no money in the world will ever make me play gambit. The only way I would play gambit is if the mode got overhauled into combined arms with a 12vs12 mode with vehicles, at that point its not even gambit. So what I’m trying to say is, gambit sucks lol

I personally don’t think that Invaders should be nerfed that much. Yes, they can be annoying, but removing their radar and having every person lock onto them essentially makes it an unfair 4v1 as if it were a Crucible match. Not every Invasion is a successful one as the meta for Invaders can easily be flipped against them, such as a Gambit veteran immediately recognizing a spawn point and going in with a GHorn of their own. I do think having an Invader indirectly switch up things for a team could be interesting, though, like as you said, Invading makes the Primeval immune until the Invader is defeated, slowing down the team. Maybe there could be a lab where Invasions cause everyone to switch to a random relic in the middle of the fight or something. But for now, I think Invaders can be fixed through a smaller heavy ammo economy and fewer invasions during Primeval.
