It is only shown for a small time in one cutscene at the beginning of beyond light
-
Based on its appearance it’s defo darkness related, it’s fins remind me of the Throne World weapons and their spinny bits. That’s just my guess
-
This may be close. Praydeth: “Some things he recognizes. He sees the Traveler often, though he can't feel its Light through the bars of his cage. Sometimes it hangs over a city so familiar it makes his heart ache. Sometimes it hangs in an alien sky, and foreign shapes make airy loops around it—Ghosts of unrecognizable make.” https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/epistemic?highlight=Epistemic Given how Elsie is not only in a time loop but we know Clovis and Elsie(unsure if it’s the same one) was BL lore showing them going to alternate timelines looking for stuff.

I saw a theory that it was an Ana Exo.

It's a fish.... That's it I think

4 Repliesremember the drifter and eris having a whole plotline hinted and then NOTHING? Or the Drifter v Vangaurd storyline? REMEMBER????
-
i believe its a vex time travel device in the dark future lore book elsi mentions she is in a time loop of sorts if she dies she loops if she looses she loops its why she is as good as a Guardian if not a little better most guardians have had decades if not sentries to become amazing god slayers elsie has had millions of time loops each loop could be go for a year to 10 years some times
-
1 Reply"Out here in the wild this is how we talk." No one remembers this either, because it basically never happened, but was one of the prerelease things that never got released.
-
It's neither a Ghost, nor a fish. She keeps it close to chest. Confirmation from our Ghost.

2 RepliesEdited by Jdniscool: 4/6/2022 6:26:20 PMI’m really pissed it didn’t appear again. Luke Smith even said that we’d see it again in Beyond Light specifically. Well, we are in WQ now and still no fish. False advertising anyone? Not surprised he lied, he was responsible for D2Y1...

1 ReplyIt’s called click bait hype to get you to buy the expansion.

I made a similar post recently and a lot of people pointed out how the projectiles shooting from the Caretakers back have the same art style, meaning it must be darkness related.
-
It looks cool and makes people ask questions.
-
I've seen this theory before, but it could be to help her keep track of things in other timelines. She said it on the lore of some item in beyond light. Also think, light removes memories, darkness gives them back. This would make sense as the fish is not quite a ghost, and how Elsie uses darkness.
-
Sssssh, we don't talk about flying fish thing.
-
Darkness sushi
-
We will never know XD. In her lore from beyond light and vanilla D1, she talks about some things that could potentionally be it, but there isn't enough evidence.

1 ReplyI think it’s something that retains her memories each time she gets sent back into the past.
-
My guess something with a original story for beyond light. Mainly cause it only shows in one cutscene, also drifter and Eris probably had something bigger besides being there to talk I feel like beyond light should’ve been bigger since it was removing like half the game but who knows
-
1 ReplyI am betting, in the early draft of Beyond Light , Stasis users would get a darkness equivalent of a Ghost, a vessel to channel darkness into the host
-
Her timeliness dark equivalent of a ghost is my guess. It being tied to the darkness explains why she seems to have her memories.
