So we know that leading up to Beyond Light, a lot of planets disappeared because of the darkness(aka the DCV). Zavala states that they have lost contact with everyone on those planets, so what do you think happened to the planets and the people on them? I think that they are all trapped in some sort of void made by the darkness, and the people on them are trapped their too. Maybe in Lightfall we will find out what happened, and maybe they will return. What do you guys think?

Bring Titan back.

They are safe inside my Warlocks bond for now.

3 RepliesIt was explained a little in the Glykon mission from last year (literally the best mission lore-wise we’ve gotten in years). My thought is that it’s part of the weapon Rhulk lords over us for the entire raid. The upended doesn’t destroy worlds, my thought is that it’s along the lines of “taking” a planet. Rhulk, and by extension the Witness, took the planets and have shifted their physical existence to an alternate plane. Their mass still having affects on the surrounding environment. Asher was absorbed by the Vex Network and we’ve actually seen him during the final mission of the season of the splicer as a Friendly Blue Harpy. Brother Vance sealed himself inside the infinite forest and likely stranded himself inside the vex gate network and fighting a constant existential war with different copies of himself. (Courtesy of being a non-Paracausal being in a vex gate network). Could be dead or just driving himself nuts. Sloane is the only one that I think could be frisky dead. She puts on a mech suit and goes all One-Woman-army on the hive and darkness. Doesn’t say explicitly that she’s dead, but it seems decently likely unless the darkness took her prisoner. I highly recommend reading Durress and Egress lore book for a better insight. The only one they’ve actively been exploring has been Asher. Hopefully we get a real vex season at some point that deals with him and maybe gives us a new big-bad for the vex, as they’re the least explored enemy faction for the past 3-ish years.

2 Replies<The Darkness took them, which is proven in Presage. Given that Mars looks all scarred and the Martian Pyramid is missing, it's safe to assume that the Deep sent it back. I imagine that the other worlds are undergoing a similar autopsy.>

Seems like they joined the collection of planets in the chamber of the witness. You can see some planets floating around in the post-campaign cutscene. At least I think they are planets.

They are in Bungie's closet.
-
Savathuns purse. Now we will never find them, ungrateful -blam!-.

Well Vance we know is probably dead or lost in the vex network, Asher I believe had lost to the vex and was converted, Sloane I don't think is alive either, as for the planets pretty sure Zavala said that they're just gone

They disappeared

You know how Pluto was downgraded from planet to planetoid? Same thing.
-
The Witness has them.

2 RepliesThey're there, just not. The world card is flipped face down. Since Savathûn says Mercury, Io and Titan are in her care. We can assume that these planets will come back one by one with every season. Also, note the fact that Savathûn would need to know the lies are true in order to tell the truth of the trues.

Would love to see a twisted, mech darkness version of the Titan vendor on... Titan

During the campaign, Savathun said that when she read the Books of Sorrow "between the lines," she discovered a power greater than the power to Take- it's the power to teleport entire planets. The Witness used The Darkness to steal Mercury, Titan, and Io. We can see Mercury floating around inside The Witness's ship in the cutscene at the end of the Witch Queen campaign. During the Altars of Reflection missions, Savathun said the reason Mars returned is because she was actually the one who took it, essentially to screw with The Witness, and then she gave it back as a generous gift.
-
2 RepliesSavathun actually talks about what happened to the planets and why only Mars has returned in the Altar of Reflection missions.
-
I don't think we truly know. Savathun gave an explanation about why Mars returned but can you really trust the Queen of Lies?

👀 All apart from…
Ana Bray escaping Mars to chase her multiverse sister across Europa
The darkness has effectively cloaked these worlds, leaving anomalies in their wake where they once were. We don't know where these worlds are. Only that we are monitoring the positions as best we can. The bigger issue with the planets disappearing is if a pyramid ship on our moon makes it to earth? We could see that happen to us.
