All these comments from the helmet wearing players. “Oh you shouldn’t be able to play solo blah blah blah it needs communication”. No, YOU need communication. YOU crutch on someone else to do the work for you. Some players prefer to just go into games and play. Does it make a single bit of difference if that solo player manages to get an armor or weapon from Freelance Trials? How does that hurt you? Why can’t other people have nice things? Anyone who has paid for this game is equally entitled to every aspect of it, even the solo players. And yeah, go ahead and look at my trials KD and come back with a “yOu SuCk AnYwAy”. Doesn’t hurt me a bit because PvP is trash. Until gambit got revamped pvp was the worst part of the game. Gambit definitely wears that crown now.

  • Allowing solos to go into trials was a win win situation. On the other hand it offered even semi decent teams the opportunity to go flawless on the other hand solos still get the chance to rank up and earn gear. The player base has been increased significantly and that's a good thing for sure. The more ppl play the better for the mode. Anyone thinking that the solo queue will help them go flawless on a regular basis is seriously deluded.

That guy above you, what a clown. They'd still be sweating it out in trials teams and cursing at the horrible sweatiness if they didn't add solos in...who are getting farmed hard.

  • I mean solos weren't there before they made it more accessible and no one really complained until now. It's just back then everyone was straight up cheating.

  • Eh, sorry how more accessible? Trials was shutdown before the latest revamp with solo cause the population was terrible and the rewards path was bad.

  • Accessible as in they allowed you to play without a fireteam. Trials is on a constant loop where: 1. New gear is introduced so people grind it out for a few weeks. 2. All the casual/average/good players get all the loot they want and bounce (I am one of them). 3. All that's left of the trials population. Is new players, the below average trying to get loot, the streamers doing carries, and the sweats. I went flawless every freelance week and honestly from what I gathered is. Bad player really expect to be carried. Half the time they do get carried through one win. I guarentee you if Bungie makes freelance permanent the next thing the the bad players will complain about is it not having SBMM. A lot of bad players for some reason are scared of adversity.

I mean yes I agree with what you're generally saying now that you stated it. I do think there is definitely a problem with matchmaking and lobby balancing. Trials matchmaking in both modes is poorly done against solos. Teams should match similar stat teams a majority of the time. They should not almost always be matching solos which is what happens right now. If I play 20 games of trials regular, 18 of those games are against teams and teams that play week after week. In addition, if you're going to match solos, it should be good solos, not just card based nonsense whereone 1 or 2 solos has no idea what aiming is. It should match you against solos based on whatever your "elo" is. It's trials after all (the fakest high skill game there is), so why shouldn't matches be fairly ranked against a similar performing team? So people only want to stomp, not play similar level players? Trials should give you the feeling of sweating out some 7 good matches where a few might be super close wins. Freelance also has a bad problem, unless you're a really good player the lobby balance is busted.

  • You see I would all for SBMM if it wasn't for the outdated p2p system bungie still uses for some reason. Like I grinded comp when Lunas howl was the shiny toy. The amount of ghost bullets and hit registration inconsistently was kinda bad. You smack on cross play with that you're in for a bad time.

I totally agree, the nonsense p2p just makes the whole situation laughable. Hit registration, lagging players, and server randomly deciding who won an engagement based on crazy latency...what a joke. I grinded comp during Luna days and somehow comp feels worse to me now...can't manage a 4 win streak while I had a 10win streak then.

  • I just stopped playing comp because other than a title what do I have to go insane for? There's no ritual weapon to grind for that's exclusive to comp. It's crazy the mentality of people these days as well. If I say "I don't want sbmm." It isn't because "I want easier lobbies". It's because I know for a fact sbmm doesn't give a good consistent experience unless actual servers are involved.

  • I agree, I wouldn't do survival if I wasn't trying to gold, otherwise I got nothing else in the game to do besides raid. Yeah the connection quality is the biggest issue, you're totally right. Until that's fixed, sbmm is broken.
