it 100% is.
-
It 100% is not
-
wrong. it is. it might not be intended to be a form of storage, but thats what i use it for. so it IS a form of storage.
-
Ok. If you use it as a form of storage do not complain when your items are deleted.
-
im not complaining and they wont be deleted.
-
You’re not, but a lot of people who store stuff do.
-
This mindset supports the -blam!- low caps Bungie places on mats. Please don't be that guy. It's not a good look.
-
To have the right opinion, is not a good look?
-
Wow! What a comment. What if I were to say that my opinion is the only right one here? Does it make your's wrong?
-
The only reason I’m saying it’s the right one, is because Bungie has stated the same one numerous times
-
And Bungie has never changed the game because they've been wrong before... right?
-
Never said Bungie hasn’t been wrong. I am saying just because the community wants something doesn’t mean Bungie wants it
-
No one is saying Bungie wants it changed lol. Players want it changed. I'm not sure where the disconnect is for you. Let me ask you this. If Bungie were to change the material cap to say, double what it is currently, and change the postmaster to consider item rarity, how would it negatively affect your experience?
-
It wouldn’t effect me at all. But I’m just telling you want Bungie has previously stated
-
We are all aware what Bungie has said. And until what Bungie says makes sense, players are gonna call for the right thing to be done. Bungie themselves continue to call D2 an MMO, yet they handcuff the players by severely limiting mats. It doesn't make sense.
-
Honestly fair point. But it seems with this matter, they will not change it.
-
Can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket
-
That is true. But I was thinking about this, and I could have worded my original statement better. Instead of saying the right opinion, I should have said like it’s fact or something.
-
If the postmaster is not a form of storage, why does the game actively incentivize you to use it as storage?
-
[quote]If the postmaster is not a form of storage, why does the game actively incentivize you to use it as storage?[/quote] It doesn't dude...
-
Read my response to pumpkinspice1994 I just made, no need to repeat it here.
-
Yeah...except that Bungie has literally stated that the postmaster isn't storage. Your observation doesn't trump that.

Let's say you are the parent of a child that likes to play video games and you tell that child they are only allowed to play 1 hour of video games per day on the family computer. Let's say you as a parent also allow the child to have a computer in their room for homework and studying; this computer is not intended to be used for video games, but has the ability to have video games played on it. After the child plays video games for 1 hour, you tell them to go their room to study, but instead, the child goes to their room to play video games for 3 more hours. What do you do as a parent? You have a few options: 1. If you only want your child to play 1 hour of video games, you disable video games on the computer in their room. 2. If you are okay with your child playing 4 hours of video games, you allow them to play 4 hours of video games split between the family computer and the computer in their room. 3. If you are okay with your child playing 4 hours of video games, you allow them to play 4 hours of video games on the family computer, but you disable video games on the computer in their room. Replace the words with ones applicable to Ascendant Shards and your Postmaster for instance: 1. If you only want [players] to [have 10 Ascendant Shards], you disable [storing Ascendant Shards] in their [Postmaster]. 2. If you are okay with [players] [having 40 Ascendant Shards], you allow them to [store 40 Ascendant Shards] between the [Inventory] and the [Postmaster]. 3. If you are okay with [players] [having 40 Ascendant Shards], you allow them to [store 40 Ascendant Shards] [i]n the [Inventory], but you disable [storing Ascendant Shards] in their [Postmaster]. We are currently in scenario 2, Bungie needs to change to scenario 1 or 3, otherwise, regardless of whether they wanted to or not, they are actively incentivizing you to use your Postmaster as storage.

That analogy doesn't really mean much when you consider that Bungie expressly told us that the post master [b][i][u]is not storage space[/u][/i][/b]. If my parents tell me "don't put your toys in the trash" and I do it anyway, who's fault is it that they get tossed out?
-
It is actually the perfect analogy. - Bungie expressly told us that the Postmaster is not storage space. - The parent expressly told the child that their computer was not to be used for video games. In both cases, the intent was bypassed because the parent/Bungie failed to create a system that works as intended. I'm all on board with the mindset of "if you lose stored items in your Postmaster, you only have yourself to blame", because yes, that is how the system works. My main point is that even though it is not intended to use the Postmaster as storage, we are rewarded for using it as storage. I have been rewarded by having 960 Spoils at the beginning of the season allowing me to get all of the new weapons I want quicker. I have been rewarded by freely being able to masterwork an entire set of raid gear on each character without needing to farm Master Nightfalls while underleveled. The game actively incentivized me to use the Postmaster as storage so I could do these things.
