Interesting take, but I disagree. When Immaru brought her back, her told her who she was, but it was also with the help of a Wizard, her most trusted servant apparently, that she came back to her Throne World, picked up the broken glaive we see in the beginning of the campaign, and found out that she had to trick us into giving her back her memories (lore from the three exotic glaives) All of this is likely to have been anticipated by Savathun before her death. Moreover, regarding the Ghosts, some of them became fascinated with the Books of Sorrow, which tell the story of the Hive, so it’s no surprise Immaru knew who Savathun was, and the others sided with the Hive after she got the Light. If we follow your theory, then we can say that the Ghosts are the tools of the Traveler. But Savathun followed her own plan, that involved getting the Light, so I doubt Immaru had anything to do with it. The real interesting thing is the Traveler’s motive ! Was it because it planned to give the Light to the Krill back in Fundament, or maybe just to ensure it’s survival against the Witness.

  • Savathun Offered the Traveler a Safe Haven....a place the Black Fleet can't Go. The Traveler is always Ready to leave, it just won't jump off the Boat, unless it sees a Life Raft. The Traveler doesn't care who gets the Light, as long as it will do it's will, it'll stay, but, of it sees another people... claiming to be able to defend it better....it'll go to the next one. Savathun gave it a Second Option of Protection.....we were like, "HELL NO!" And got Rid of it's other Option. IMHO, the Reason the Traveler left her Throne World is because we pretty much did a Right of Combat and Showed we are the Strongest Being to Protect it.

  • "Immaru told her who she was." Exactly. Immaru told her who she was. Immaru took her to said wizard. Imagine if OUR Ghost had found her. If he'd guided her. "You're a Guardian! The first one among your people! This is so exciting! We have to get you back to the Last City! Eyes up Guardian!"

  • Well, what makes you think she would have been revived if « our Ghost » or a Ghost that prefers Humanity had found her. We’ve learned that Ghosts can give the Light to other species than Humanity, and we have also learned that they have an opinion, such as when our own Ghost gets angry at Savathun at the end of the campaign (very good piece of dialogue btw). As for Immaru, I believe I heard our Ghost mention that he was a bully to other Ghosts. However, how could he have known who Savathun was ? With the Books of Sorrow ! Apart from that, the Wizard came by itself, and all of this only served Savathun’s original purpose imo.

  • Immaru was a bully most likely because he had an ego. He probably believed he was destined to have an amazing Guardian and bullied the other Ghosts because he didn't automatically find said Guardian (think about it, most bullies are making up for their own insecurities; he probably HATES our Ghost btw.) So when he got Savathun, he decided to run with it, thinking now suddenly, everything made sense, so he decided to make her the anti-Guardian out of his resentment. Think about it. In any story, the spotlight always falls mostly on 2 characters, the protagonist (us,) and the antagonist (the bad guys.) And usually? It is the antagonist, the villain, who drives the story and steals the show. So I picture it this way. Immaru resurrects Savathun. While he's figuring out what to do with her, the aforementioned wizard shows up, and Immaru makes his choice.

  • Well, I guess we’ll agree to disagree, but still an interesting opinion. In any case, Ghosts are gaining in personality, and that’s a good thing !
