I literally came here to ask them to stop these stupid Catalyst PVP requirements on obviously PVE-oriented weapons.
It feels literally impossible right now to get 50 kills with Ticuu's. The hipfire does crap damage, the ADS attack doesn't kill unless you hit the head and even then...not sure. I mean...just why? Why can't we just kill 50 or 100 or hell even 500 NPC's and be done with it like so many other Catalysts?
This weapon is clearly and obviously designed with PVE in mind, why put us through this for the Catalyst? PVP is in such a bad place in D2, I resent being forced into it randomly for Catalysts. Especially for weapons so far out of the PVP meta.

Bows in general aren’t bad in PvP. Your first shot can be a hip fire or a headshot, and your second need to be a headshot. Ticuu’s is very forgiving for it’s draw time and it’s got high damage while ads. PvP’s a part of the game. 50 defeats is not a hard thing to do. Go into control and spam hip-Fire while standing with teammates.

PVP is a part of game but nobody should be forced into it. Demanding PVP kills for Ticcu's and things like Tommy's Matchbook is kind of absurd. Some kid got on voice chat in Trials and called me an N-word with the hard R man. That's just something I don't need in my life and it lessens the enjoyment of Destiny, not enhances it.
-
Then don’t enter public voice chats? It’s not mandatory?

Not sure why you're asking a dumb question like that or seizing on that one detail. The point is we are expressing that we would prefer Catalysts quests be more in-line with the playerbase at large and the weapons intended use-case. Queuing into a toxic sewer just to complete a weapon catalyst is not a valuable use of time or enjoyable.

Dude was trying to progress his Ticuu’s catalyst in trials. There’s only so much sympathy you can have for people trying to have a bad time.
-
Not sure if you're trolling. It was not exclusively in Trials, I shouldn't have to explain myself. I definitely shouldn't need to defend the use of voice chat, which Bungie included in the game for a reason. "Dude" is a paying customer giving a suggestion to Bungie. As I assume you are not an employee of Bungie and cannot take action on this feedback, your comments are unnecessary and unproductive. There's no PVP mode that makes the Ticuu's catalyst enjoyable or rewarding. It's just a forced slog.

Can you stop getting emotional? The guy I was responding to was literally doing a catalyst quest in trials. He was trolling. He just so happened to also be in a voice chat and got called out for it. You aren’t the person I responded to, so you have no business getting emotional over a conversation you aren’t involved in.

Why are you trying to do a catalyst in trials, and why are you opting into the open coms without expecting it to be like a 2008 CoD lobby sometimes. Both are defeats not final blows. Try crucible out. I’m not amazing at it, but it can be fun if you don’t stress out. All the guns that have this as part of their catalyst quest are pretty solid in pvp. (Ticuu’s being a basic lightweight bow but you can just spam the hip Fire with teammates to get defeats, and Tommy’s being able to get a 35% damage bonus basically for free on an already good archetype). Be patient. Plenty of people don’t like PvE and plenty of people don’t like PvP. Neither are going anywhere and Bungie doesn’t seem in the mood to change these things on old quests. The new ones should be better going forward.

You know you don’t have to full draw, right? Hip-fire that ish like it’s the last word

Really not that bad if you aren’t a monkey, just sit in an empowering rift (if you use the new boots with void it gives you devour) or the stag, because of the overshield.
